Caroline vs. Hillary
In 2001, linguistics professor Robin Lakoff noticed that Hillary Clinton said "you know" 19 times in a speech about her brother Hugh's criminal activity, indicating that she was, Lakoff thought, feeling vulnerable. "Her possible senatorial replacement, Caroline Kennedy," writes Ben McGrath in this week's New Yorker, "would seem, by this standard, to be overqualified." In her New York Times interview, Kennedy said "you know" 138 times. In her Daily News interview and on NY1, she broke 200. It all reminds McGrath of an interview by Caroline's uncle Ted with Roger Mudd, in which Ted proved similarly inarticulate. "The Mudd parallel highlighted the strange tension in Kennedy's nascent candidacy. On the one hand, her lack of polish, or media training, suggests an Everywoman appeal—the mother of three with no Washington experience, like a Sarah Palin for Democrats—while at the same time undermining the Kennedy mystique and serving as a reminder of the Bush lesson that dynasties can devolve (and not just into mangled English)."
All I know is that Caroline is vastly more ethical than Clinton and will make a much better senator for New York. Clinton never lived in New York and played many financial games to get the money to finance her campaign like Greenburgh NY and Corning Glass.
Caroline is ethical? She is looking for her payback for dumping Hillary to support Obama and you say she is ethical? She has NO political experience but she thinks she can ride into the Senate seat because of the Kennedy name. That is ethical?
And this article compares Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg to Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin at least has some experience in elected office. Mrs. Schlossberg has NONE.
This is just more than a waste of time listening to some of these crack pot comments about ethics. CBK has not even ever filled out an ethics questionare and I am sure no one would know what her financies even look like. She hasn't voted in certain important elections yet she is being compared to HRC! And while I am supportive of the work that her cousins have done it does not mean that she can be effective in the role as the junior Senator from New York Quary: what does she bring to the table for New Yorkers. I am a little sick of party bosses telling us who would help them raise money for the party. Who is raising money for the New Yorkers. I wonder just how much money she would have gotten from Geoge Bush the day after 911. I think that people should grow up and note that the charmed life is over for everyone!! PDH
