Caroline’s Poll Fault

The latest big Democratic name to come out in favor of Caroline Kennedy’s Senate seat bid is the widow of Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan. But when Mrs. Kennedy Schlossberg had a chance to vote for Sen. Moynihan in 1994, records show she was otherwise engaged and stayed at home. This is only one of many important voting opportunities that Caroline has missed. She also skipped the mayoral primary in 1997 and 2005 and the general election in 2002. "Some Democrats privately expressed surprise about the non-votes. Kennedy has talked about her civic commitment as a reason why she's seeking the seat Clinton is leaving," reports the New York Post. (While Murdoch’s Post is supporting the Kennedy campaign, its news columns continue to report on her inadequacies.)

Voting is a matter of Conscience and not just Duty. Being myself presented with the probability of War in 2000, and Baby Killing in 2004, in addition to people killing, there was simply no one to VOTE FOR. Thank You for revealing YOUR CONSCIENCE.

Last I checked, Abstentions are counted in the Votes, no? With Rolling Economic Boycotts all the rage these days, isn't that a form of Abstention too? Or am I being too 'sighted' to see this?

I can't blame her for not consistently voting-it was a waste of time in many instances. I stayed home many times also but not now, not since this last election. I feel Caroline meant what she wrote about Obama's campaign calling to her like her father had other's long ago. I think she'd be a great Senator and ought to be given some slack for having given her father to us as a country and losing him forever

Caroline, politics will ruin your image. Stay out of the ugliness that politics breeds.Your sphere of influence is better suited as a private citizen.
Beware of what you ask for, you just may get it.

It's unclear to me why/how we know how she voted. Isn't voting supposed to be anonymous? This whole story reeks of Big Brother. Is nothing personal anymore at all??

I'm sure she's a wonderful woman, but Caroline Kennedy cannot be my senator. This is an insult to women. Message to every hard working, middle class mom who fought her way into the state Assembly from Buffalo or Rochester or Queens: Fuck you! This story needs to deflate. She would be a horrible choice for U.S. Senate. Let her run in 2010, she doesn't deserve this appointment, at all!

Caroline was dealing with her mother's illness, death and then had the unenviable task of tying up her mother's estate in 1994. I certainly think we can give Caroline a break for that!

"(While Murdoch's Post is supporting the Kennedy campaign, its news columns continue to report on her inadequacies.)"

And of course none of the other hopefuls have any inadequacies. They are all perfect, especially the professional pols who have been feeding at the public trough for years.
