CT Firefighters Must Be Promoted
A federal judge ordered the 14 firefighters who won a lankmark reverse-discrimination case in the Supreme Court to be promoted. The New Haven, Connecticut, firefighters said their civil rights had been violated when city officials threw out the results of a 2003 promotion exam because not enough minorities performed well. Six firefighters will be made captain, eight lieutenant.

The wheels of justice grind slowly; but they grind exceedingly fine.

It did take long enough!

Congratulations, Ct firefighters! Please ignore TDB, everyone does. You EARNED your promotions maybe this will inspire others to work harder and not expect to be given something because of the color of their skin. The bar has been set a little higher and that benefits ALL of us.

Congrats, CT Firefighters!
Please ignore tolatetocry(sic)...everyone does...she spent all day yesterday ranting about vegetables.

It is good that they will be awarded their posts
(hopefully with back pay)
The next test should be better designed.
tolatetocry
better designed? When our house is on fire, our child is in trouble don't you want the person? I saw some of these men on tv and they really busted their ass for these promotions. I don't really know what you mean by better designed. that seems to imply that it was rigged against minority's. We've all had to study and take tests (I had terrible test anxiety in college) so we all know that feeling!
