Cuomo Furious at Caroline
Caroline Kennedy’s low-speed coronation for New York’s vacant U.S. Senate seat has left one contender feeling at his wit’s end: Andrew Cuomo. “It’s driving him crazy,” a Cuomo friend tells The New York Times. “He’s boxed in. He can’t do anything except fume, and he is fuming.” Before Kennedy emerged onto the scene, contenders for the seat were advised not to campaign for it. Yet Kennedy is quite actively campaigning, and the other candidates, like Cuomo, are still stuck neutral. “The frustration is that he could have leveraged the Cuomo name and pushed his way into the process … [Y]ou have someone who has not done the trench work that Andrew has in New York leverage her name to get the appointment,” the Cuomo friend said. A possible consolation prize for Cuomo: remain as AG and help the feds prosecute Bernie Madoff.

Andrew would have been furious in the old days. Grown up Andrew is doing his job. This situation is the next way that the Attorney General can show that he is no longer Andrew. Life is a journey and Mr. Cuomo is serving the people. His activism for the people of NY State is speaking for who he's become. As one of those I recommend that he continue his service. There is so much more to do.
So what the hell is keeping him from campaigning now? If the princess has broken the agreement not to hit the hustings, why can't Cuomo?
Just Say No to Caroline!

Ramonjesus is right... Andrew Cuomo has done and is doing a terrific job as NY State Attorney General. All of the political noise can't obscure the respect he deserves for that.
It's likely that either Andrew or Caroline would do well as a NYS Senator. I agree that Andrew Cuomo is doing a fine job as NYS Attorney General and he, unlike so many others, are actually doing fine public service. Yes, Elliot Spitzer did the same. I've pondered the possible problems of one person staying in such a position for a long time and it occurred to me, just as an/a potential example, that Cuomo's staying in the Attorney General position for a very long period might discourage other fine people who would choose a career with a trajectory leading to or passing through that office from doing so. As I realized upon returning to NYS from VA after 20 years absence, NYS state has a disastrously activist government. The state interferes in almost all aspects of my life...to the point where I find it difficult to live here...I may leave. Clinton was not terribly active in internal NYS politics; Schumer is a pain in the a$$ as are most of the NYS Senators and politicians. I'd like to see Schumer replaced and Cuomo (or Kennedy) might be just the person to do that.
I find it very funny that on the one hand people are talking about how little experience Caroline has, and on the other hand about how she has outmaneuvered all the experienced people. It's not just about being a Kennedy. Robert Jr. is a Kennedy. It's not just about having money or connections. Cuomo has all that. It's how she has used all those assets that is setting her apart. Without breaking a sweat she has gone from someone who was bearly getting a mention to someone who is all but a fait accompli. It's really quite impressive.
The peoples representative should be a person with the greatest influence in order to bring home the bacon and bringing home the bacon is what voters should demanding . There is no other sensible reason for voting for a candidate . We often vote for the people the MSM have coerced us in to voting for . There are two questions we should ask ourselves . 1. Which candidate would have the most influence in getting our needs taken care of .
2. Which candidate is the MSM trying to coerce us in to voting for ? The reason we are in the present trouble is because of the corporate MSM's efforts .
Patterson knows he can't win the gubernatorial NYS election against the more popular Cuomo in a few years. So what better way to get rid if the chief Democratic rival than to promote him his to dream job as US Senator. No one knows anything about Kennedy on foreign affairs, energy, jobs and taxes. She is a mystery person and New Yorker deserve a candidate that is open with views that a are well known. There is know doubt that she is more than capable given Al Franken and all the other newbies in government.
pangloss: You're forgetting Alphonse D'Amato!!
