Election Highlights Right-Wing Purge

The right wing of the Republican Party is fighting for a victory in New York's 23rd Congressional district Tuesday, hoping that a conservative candidate can secure a seat and help ignite a purge of moderates from the GOP. "Moderates by definition have no principles," Rush Limbaugh said during his radio show Monday. Democrats have also seized on the conservative excitement for a win, sending Vice President Joe Biden to the area Monday to stump for his party. "Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is 'Drill, baby, drill,'" Biden said. "It's a lot more complicated, Sarah." A recent poll showed the conservative candidate Doug Hoffman leading his Democratic opponent Bill Owens by 5 points, with 18 percent of voters undecided.

I begin to think you're another TDB (probably paid) provocateur. You never post anything of substance. You just throw out a slice of red meat, hoping to piss off enough people to get a fight going.

Yawn

It's sad that there are no people who can think rationaly in the USA government. The mentality is limited to "right", "left", "middle", leaving nobody that can think. That is why people like Rush Libaugh can take the center stage. The problem remains "no brain no gain" in the USA and causes the USA to sink further into oblivian. It's past time to decentralize the Washington DC regime.

If the "conservative" or extremist, Hoffman wins in NY today it could be a pyrrhic victory for the Republican Party.
This guy is so far to the right that even the Republican actually nominated for the seat has run away from him and endorsed the Democrat.
The lunatic fringe of the Republican Party is devouring the rest of the Party. I can only hope and pray they do bring about the death spiral of this organization, which has done more to damage America than all the criminals in American prisons today.

MaCaCa

Yea, NewyorkerR is a Class A moron, a dope, a fool, an idiot, a dunce, a completely blockheaded retard.

If brains were popularity ratings, he'd be the republican party.

MaCaCa

Oh, and anyone who disagrees with him is automatically liberal, though I doubt he could give a coherent definition of what either liberal or conservative means. Despite his obvious lack of understanding, he feels confident enough to reduce EVERYTHING to liberal vs conservative as if nothing else exists outside of that bullshit dichotomy.

No doubt NewyorkerR has attended lots of tea parties. He's a perfect fit for the other crazies there.

Don't worry, NewyorkerR. In another few years, you, Mal, Winnie, dabeall, Mary, and a few other conservative DB posters will be the last people left in the Republican Party.

Of course, it will be a bit lonely. But I'm sure you'll survive.

TIM PAWLENTY should be on Dancing with stars ,he danced around a question about Mrs.Snowe and the moderates in the Re-publican party, He said "NO" to them and threw them completely under the bus, He has chosen to move to the very far right, Nancy Pelosi will open her arms to those moderates and make her tent even bigger,as the Ronald Reagan tent gets turned into a one man pop up tent, The one re-publican who can come out and repeat time as they say it does, is Joe Scarborough he could possibly repeat what Reagan did, and bring in democrats as well as Independents, Joe has democrat blood running in his veins as did Reagan ,But changed as Reagan did, could this be a "REPEAT" of Reagan ,Because Sarah Bush,Tim Pawlenty,Newt Gingrich or any other re-publican at this moment ,are confused as to who they want to be, and confusion is'nt very appealing to voters

That's the idea matthewbezor ... drive the libs and moderates of the Republican Party into the arms of the Democratic Party where they would be at home. They've muddied the waters of the Republican Party long enough -- time to let them muddy yours, and believe me they will.

We welcome them with open arms, GrannyRob. They (and independents like them) ensure that Republicans will not regain power for at least another generation.

This new Jersey race is going to end up like Minnesota, with the corruption going on. in which we ended up with comic relief Al Frankin in the Senate. Acorn already are signing up and collecting absentee ballots which you could fill out ten a time,{ NJ law}. This corruption was reported from a hospital in Newark where they give out ballots, they recognized acorn in their red shirts. {so obivious}

There are reports out of Camden, NJ that voters are discovering that absentee ballots have already been submitted under their names. Obama gave the green light to his little corrupt cronies. Corzine will win by hook or by crook.

I am certainly glad to know that as a moderate, Rush, that I have by (your) definition) "no principles". I guess then you won't mind when so many of us who left the fold last election continue to vote with your opposition. How is that for standing up for what you believe in? Hope you people enjoy your minority status for many years. You really deserve it!

cndfox: Today's conservative Republicans search for principled perfection in an imperfect world. By the time they find perfection, there will be nobody left in the Republican Party to appreciate it.

Pretty sad...
