ESPN Fires Phillips for Affair

Baseball analyst and former Mets General Manager Steve Phillips has been tossed out. The talking head was fired by ESPN on Sunday night, and will be entering a treatment facility to “address his personal issues,” his representative told the Associated Press. What “personal issues” will Phillips be addressing? The highly publicized fallout from the announcer’s affair with a 22-year-old production assistant, Brooke Hudley. "Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN," said network spokesman Josh Krulewitz. "His ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways." Phillips’s affair with Hundley has also apparently caused “irreparable damage” to his wife, Marni Phillips, who filed for divorce on Sept. 14 following Hudley's stalker-like behavior. Phillips was also fired by the Mets in 2003 after being sued for sexual harassment by an employee in 1988.

Some people genuinely have mental problems and
should be sympathized with.

Some people have drinking problems that I don't doubt
are biological, hereditary, and perhaps should be sympathized with.

As for Phillips, maybe it boils down to the guy just being a creep.
The same thing happened with the Mets six years ago ?

How often does this kind of behavior lead to " Rehab, " where it makes the guy sound like a " victim, " like he has
an " illness ? "

Like a prisoner who " Finds God ? "

Plantagenet

If its OK for David Letterman to have a secret bedroom where he takes his young staffers why isn't it OK for Phillips to have an affair with a young staffer?

Noontime

plantagenet:

because Letterman is one of CBS's biggest hitters, ie. money makers. Phillips was just one of ESPN's thousands of "analysts."

Hey-plant -a lie--what a ignorant question to ask..

geesh.. not the fact it's adultry on both cases.. becuz it is not..letterman was not married to his present wife.. but the FACT that Letterman was being bribe to expose the affair STUPID..that's a felony you dumb butt bunny.. and letterman went to the police about the bribery.. and the affairs took place decades ago

..UNLIKE dumb bunny butt Phillips ..

Phillips is a complete azz and another shelfish-righteous arrogant stupid MARRIED male .. and what his mistress staffer DID is called "stalking" phillip's wife and children and made threats to the wife and children..another potenial crime.. and phillips should be fired as result of his adultry.. becuz of the hurt and the harm caused presently to innocent PPL like his family..and the media headlines related to ESPN..

Dillon

Steve Phillips commits a reprise
Of bedding down his employees;
Hits Hundley then walks
So she in turn stalks,
And put his past balls in a squeeze.
