Euna Lee to Pen Memoir

American journalist Euna Lee is set to write her own account of the 140 days she was detained by North Korean officials. Lee, who is a producer for Al Gore's Current TV, was arrested with fellow journalist Laura Ling on March 17 at the border between China and North Korea. They were sentenced to 12 years of hard labor for hostilities toward North Korea, but were pardoned following a visit from former president Bill Clinton. Neither Lee nor Ling has spoken extensively about her time as a captive yet. Lee's book will be titled The World Is Bigger Now: A Memoir of Faith, Family and Freedom. Ling is also pitching a book, with sister and journalist Lisa Ling.

I am glad they are safe but these two women should not be allowed to profit from breaking laws and placing U.S. foreign policy at risk in order to be rescued. This would only encourage more stupid behavior by so-called journalists. First Lisa Ling sneaked into North Korea and made a video afterwards. Then her sister tries to do the same thing, gets caught, almost causes an international incident, and now is going to be rewarded with a book deal and money.

Now we have 3 so-called citizen journalists in an Iranian jail, waiting to be rescue yet again by the U.S. State Department. They also were caught breaking the law and being somewhere they had no business being. When they are eventually rescued should we reward them also with book sales and their own t.v. show?

Whatever profits both Euna Lee and Laura Ling make have to be donated directed to the U.S. State Department for the time and effort it took to rescue their butts.

Even France is thinking of changing their laws in order to charge citizens that have to be rescued from foreign locations due to their own stupid behavior.

two dolts, looking for celebrity, got it. I understand they didn't stay in any prison, had good food (looked pretty good when they got back) and were treated like royalty to be used as pr pawns by North Korea.
Now it is time for the money... money.... money.... celebrity... money... money.... money....

They were put up in the guest houses used for dignitaries which are a thousand times better than what the average North Korean lives in.

Capitalism at its best. I guess it does pay to know Bubba & Al Gore. Keep those campaign contributions coming this way!
