The Best In Brief
Harry Potter to Bare All
Cover your eyes, kids: Daniel Radcliffe will go nude in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, director David Yates told The Telegraph Monday. Harry’s naked image will appear when a monster uses magic to evoke jealously from best friend Ron Weasley by showing images of Potter with Hermione Granger, Ron’s crush and both boys’ best friend. “We'll create something that feels very sexy and very intriguing," says Yates. While many Harry Potter fans are children, the movie also attracts an older crowd, and Yates has been pushing the envelope in each film. (He showcased a romantic relationship in The Half-Blood Prince.) Harry nude may be shocking for the audience, but for Radcliffe, it’s nothing new: He also appeared nude on stage in Equus.

Anyone familiar with the book, and therefore the scene, knows that if Harry's image is nude, so should Hermione's. Will the actress also appear nude?

Nudity in a children's movie....somebody needs to explain to me why this is even being considered....
roveisawanker
oh dear. have you ever seen a child naked? they couldn't give a crap about it- it's only the parents...
Linney
Apparently, you haven't read the books, whywhywhy, because it is no longer a children's book at the end and it probably won't be a children's movie either. Keep your small child at home. I'm sure it will be rated appropriately to keep little kids out. Be a parent and shut up.

I am not going to sit in a movie theater with a bunch of pedophiles.

Radcliffe is 20 years old, you got a very strange notion of what a child is if you think a 20 year old man is a child. And let me guess, you would never look at a 20 year old naked woman, right?
This said, pushing the envelope is pretty stupid for an adolescent fantasy series. Stick to telling a good story.

Nudity is not harmful.

I don't recall a need for sexy intrigue when I read the book. It seems like a strange bit of creative license that could work in context. Still, seems like a Muggle point of view.

I want to take my kids to see this...maybe he'll put on his invisibility cloak first.

Spare me!! I do not need to see his withered, hanging, wart ridden "Magic Wand"....unless this scene is supposed to project horror!! " Hairy Cocker".......

I don't see how it will help the movie make more money. Also I don't remember a nude scene in the book, it sounds like the director is adding because he is getting bored.
Frivolous
On the contrary, seven people made themselves look like Harry Potter early in the last book, and they all took off their clothes, baring his body, and Harry was struck by how casual they were about being nude when they all looked like him.
njoy-d-ride
I didn't give you enough information. I don't remember a nude scene at that location in the book. A "monster" Harry and a "monster" Hermoine emerge from a horacrux to taunt Ron at that location in the book.
The scene you refer to is arguably a scanitly dressed scene, but then that depends on what if any undercloths people are wearing...
I'm surprised you didn't mention the scene in King's Crossing. Harry is naked in this scene, the book plainly says he is naked. Since this scene is near the end, I'll quit commenting on it; I'm not writing a spoiler.
I will say that it would be easier to do the King's Crossing scene with one nude person.
I still don't see how the nude scene mentioned in the article will help the movie make money. Maybe its a reputation thing for the director. Thou if I were a director I'd rather have a reputation of staying true to the book that is making people come to the movie in the first place.

Chisolmtrail
He let it all hang out in Equus.
All potatoes and no meat, as they say.

You're counting inches or what?
SocialSecretion
Do we get to see Harry's Potter?
JamesMMartin
Sounds to me Mr. Radcliffe is an exhibitionist.
Thank you.
