Hasan Was Anxious About HIV Test Results

Nidal Malik Hasan

Information on Major Nidal Hasan continues to trickle out, and sources are now saying that prior to killing 13 people at Fort Hood, Hasan seemed anxious about the results of an HIV test he had taken just one week before. Hasan was known for making the rounds at local strip clubs, and medication was found in his apartment that could have been used to treat HIV-related symptoms. Details have also emerged linking the former Army psychiatrist to a number of Islamic charities abroad, to which he donated around $20,000 to $30,000 every year. Former colleagues reportedly saw him as incompetent medically, and a former commanding officer nearly failed him as an intern, but let him pass because he was "going into psychiatry and would not be doing any real patient care."

and people start inventing excuses.

Keep those standards high.

The media will do anything to divert attention from Hasan's militant Islamic beliefs and the fact that political correctness blinded the Army from connecting the dots on this madman.

Your post is bullshit. Facts is facts and should be reported. The fact that he was HIV tested is no excuse for his monstrous behavior, and no one is saying that it is.

Go back to your conservative conspiracyland which, unfortunately, was only founded after W. left office.

I know right? Is it any wonder that a great deal of serial killers have a military background? I'm not saying that to attack our brave soldiers but to highlight how the military management does not take mental problems as seriously as they should. We are sending people to foreign countries to kill other people. Hello!!
We have to take care our vets mentally as well as physically or else things like this will continue to happen.

Mal - friends of yours, those homosexual serial killers? I'll bet they are close, personal friends. Explains a lot about you. But in your defense, I'll bet they were all white homosexual serial killers....no one was Islamic; right?

maladapted - please state sources for such controversial statistics.

As far as I know, the numbers swing wildly depending on whether you include 'mass murderers' or 'spree killers' into your definition. To me, serial killers are the ones who plan and kill people over time like Bundy, Olson, or Pickton. Crazy postal workers or army guys on a rampage are not what most of us think of when we imagine a serial killer. And where do you get your statistics on homosexuals? Do you just make this stuff up?

'a former commanding officer nearly failed him as an intern, but let him pass because he was "going into psychiatry and would not be doing any real patient care."'

This is confusing. Does this mean that high ranking officers in our military medical establishment don't believe that psychiatric care for our men and women in uniform is "real"?

Yikes! Only the best for our troops, right?

No, I think he may have had sex with a girl he met in the strip clubs he is alleged to have frequented. I would guess he assumed he was going to be shot dead, not just neutralized.

I would think this is true for the general population too. If the practice is not evidence based it really isn't a science or medicine. It is a pseudo science which is possibly able to predict what 100 people might do, in a pre-determined population, sharing specific traits, but predicting what one person might do, based on generalized understanding of abnormal psychology, is probably better defined as thought policing.

More and more information is coming out and the Army is not looking very good. They allowed this fool to go up the ranks AND see patients even when others kept saying that this guy was incompetent and a threat to patients. I'm pretty progressive and liberal, but I don't care what a person's faith or color is. If they can't do the job...out they go!

He is alive and will go on trial. Sooner or later, we will know why he did it. Everyone eventually talks. Neither you nor the media know why he did it. Your guess is just as lame as theirs since NONE of you know this man or what he was thinking at the time.

Chances are both groups are going to look like idiots when the truth comes out. Same thing happened at Columbine with all the theories and supposed words that the killers said that day. Years later we found out that 90% of the information was wrong, including what the victims thought they hear during the shootings.

We don't know if he will ever talk. McVey never revealed anything and we still don't know why he did what he did in Oklahoma.

But if he does talk it's pretty obvious he did it for his Muslim extremist cause - plus he was obviously a little nuts. What the hell does having car insurance have to do with being a Muslim? They didn't even have cars when the Koran was written so how did an edict like this get in there? Or was it just something he cooked up like telling himself its okay for a Muslim to go to a strip joint.

The more we find out about this man, it makes us wonder: Why was no one following him,why wasn't he dismissed. Why wasn't he demoted.?Why wasn't he brought in, for reprimands.?What happened, his faults, his ideals, his thoughts, were out in the open.He was a walking time-bomb.

Ignoring the faith issue, is this what an American officer should be doing off duty?

Wow,
sounds like you know NOTHING about the military. Yes healthy, able-bodied young men pumped with elevated testosterone usually hang out in Sunday school! We have no idea why there are all those half-American kids running around in Korea, Vietnam, Japan and in areas surrounding U.S. army bases.

Typical radical religious hypocrite. Also, about the gay question. Having sex with women is just as bad as being gay in the mid-east. So, most there swing both ways.
