Conspiracy Theories

House Leader, Senator Endorse Birthers

We're used to seeing "birthers" come out of the woodwork, but now they’re also coming out of the halls of the United States Congress. After Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma told Politico that the birthers "have a point," the fourth-highest ranking Republican in the House, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington, is on video supporting the theories. "We're all going to find out," McMorris Rodgers tells Fire Dog Lake's Mike Stark when asked about Obama's birth certificate. "I'd like to see the documents.” McMorris Rodgers gave the Republican Party's YouTube address last weekend. In a news conference, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs condemned birther myths as "made up, fictional nonsense," an outpouring of the fact that "for $15, you can get an Internet address and say whatever you want."

Plantagenet

The birth certificate issue is bogus. Obama isn't a Muslim terrorist from Kenya. He's a native born community organiser who will do for the US what he's has already accomplished for the ghettos of Chicago.

I would like to see the Senator and Representative's respective birth certificates, and the election results documentation for their respective election to office. I would also like a complete background check submitted for each one, listing all criminal activity, outstanding debts, and their credit scores. I'd also like the Rep. to provide transcripts that prove she earned an MBA from the University of Washington. I am interested in the transcripts because she claims to have attended Pensacola Christian College, which is an unaccredited institution. What did she do there? Did she earn any degree? What could she be hiding?

amazing that these fools not only continue to get air time but GOP leaders are climbing on board. If Obama were not black there is no way this would have any traction. surprised they haven't burned a cross out in front of the White House yet.

Probably because burning a cross on the WH lawn would be noticed by the Secret Service.

I think their all space aliens and Michael Jackson was their former leader. There, I said it so it must be credible. Now I want them to show me proof I was wrong.

What pisses me off most is that while we are in the middle of an important economic crisis, the GOP is focusing on what has time and again been proven false, just to wage an ad hominem war against the President. Don't like his policies? Offer substantive alternatives-don't parade out on stage and act like a dumbass.

I guess if they're going to go down, might as well do it in a STEEP dive.

I am worried what we're going to do with all these out of work GOP'ers. Do outsted politicians get unemployment? Or have they gathered enough kickbacks that money will never be an issue?

No, but if they're ousted congressional critters, they get their gold-plated, taxpayer funded health plan for life....and a pension.

Frankly, I think the counterpoint to all of these 'birfers" is to rebut them with a "Well, I'm glad your state is in such good shape that they can focus on this bogus issue."

I like Chuck's response from above:

"""My response in dealing with folks with a birther mentality is simply: "I'm not trained to deal with the mentally ill.""""

The GOP, absent any sense of decency, leadership, or ideas to counter Obama's policies, has ceased on this outrageousness to try to detract and throw sand on Health Care Reform, Green Energy, etc. This is going to have the same effect on the public as the horrible McCain-Palin rallies, with their crazies throwing out all sorts of hatred and racist innuendo and outright racial epithets. These Congressmen and Senators think they're really smart--the point is, the more videos get out of these lunatics screaming at town-hall meetings, and the closer to the top-notch GOP they are, the more people will continue to see the GOP for what it is: completely unacceptable as a credible or even sane opposition. Associating with these people, not having the courage or common decency to shut them off, only hurts this shrinking party further. Be sure, Rethugithans, all of this will come back to haunt you in 2010 and 2012.

Oh, for Pete's sake!!!

His mother is a US citizen. That makes Mr. Obama a US citizen. Doesn't matter where he was born.

Or are you going to tell me that every baby born abroad to US military personnel or their dependents is NOT a US citizen?

You would think the Republican's would have learned something from the butt whipping they took in November 2008, but NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They just keep shoving their feet in their mouths and shooting themselves in the foot at every turn. Obama had their number during the election cycle and he has it now. If the Republican's think they can out smart Obama, they had better read their history again. This guy taught classes and wrote papers on how to win at the game that is being played here. How many whipping can one Republican butt take? I am going to enjoy watching.

Gawd - this has got to take the cake for most absurd distraction ever perpetrated by the Republican/Conservative movement. With no ideas (besides every man for himself), no plans (besides steal as much wealth from the system as possible) and no real agenda (besides destroy our first black president - there I said it), the Republicans are a pathetic excuse for an opposition. This ridiculous 'movement' should be labeled what it is - the last refuge of the desperate and irrelevant. And any politician who supports or gives credence to it ought to be shouted down as imbecilic.

I am continually astounded at the depths these lying traitors will go to get their way.
