‘Ludicrous Mistakes’ on Stimulus Site

The White House is being blasted for reports that Recovery.gov, which tracks stimulus spending and job creation, shows figures for jobs and spending in nonexistent congressional districts. The revelation of errors on the site comes after the administration dropped 60,000 from its previous figures on jobs created by stimulus spending thanks to "unrealistic data." For one, Wisconsin Democrat and House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey is demanding fixes to the "ludicrous mistakes" plaguing the site: "The administration owes itself, the Congress and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct [the errors].”

So Obama and Biden are lying when they boast about creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. Isn't that already obvious to all but the most hardened liberals with just a glance at the record unemployment levels we are experience on Obama's watch?

Here's a joke I heard on TV --can't remember who to give credit for it:

Obama created hundreds and thousands of jobs by changing hundreds and thousands of people's names to 'Jobs'.

And a nonexistant stimulus, too.

Ludicrous is the name of a rapper! Messed up gov't over-sight, wasting money and making up districts, the number of states in our union and that sort of thing are par for the gov't!

Job creation is false. Many people were laid off and re-hired for less money at the same job in our city.At a major hospital/university.

Well as we learn Arizona has a new District, Disatict 15 where the stimulus created 30 jobs @ cost $761,420. One problem there is no District 15. Also the same holds true with Iowa, Oklahoma and Connecticut. These are lists put out on the web site Recovery.com. These inaccuracies on spending and job creations and fictional congressionl districts also extends to territories in the US as well.

Kinda sounds like deliberate mistakes to me.

Hey dummies, according to Pelosi, that $787 Billion was a recovery package, not a stimulus package. They have their pork set up for another "stimulus" package later this year.

Progressive2 and AlanD,

This is why I dont want government healthcare. there is simply no proper incentive to do a good job.

I have said I will support a limited option if it is funded by premiums, just like the private sector and not funded by taxpayers. If it is funded by premiums then the price will reflect whether or not they do a good job and I am willing to let the best program win as long as they pay by the same rules.

it is idiotic that the most powerful executive on earth can't establish a means to collect accurate data ad post it on a non interactive website.

You're missing the most important contribution to the bad data: user error. Why the site creators didn't code for a simple verification question such as "Who is your congressman?" I do not know.

These errors aren't an indicator of the effect the recovery funds are having or the actual job creation efforts. They are, however, indicative of what naturally happens when humans are tasked with creating and maintaining a web-based data-base that tracks billions of dollars and millions of specific employment statistics. Humans make mistakes. But don't let a little common sense get in the way of your aggrandizing.

The people managing recovery.org had already begun to fix the mistakes before Rep. Obey starting shouting from the roof top. These are coding errors on a website data-base. That's all. What's ludicrous is that this will become a media frenzy and will be spun into how ineffectual the funds and job creation efforts have been. But hey, we gotta give the 24 hour news cycle something to talk about.

The very thing that helped Obama get elected was technology, getting out the message fast, first and always. Is hanging his @ss, because it's the use of technology that they think no one is reading and analyzing that shows all the lies of this White House and its Liberal Manipulation of the facts.

I'm still hoping on the stimulus paying for my trips abroad, and why not, my congressman Alcee Hastings takes his latest "lady be good to me" on side trips to Belgium all on the tax payers dime.......... Hell, its time to cash in mama, before the jig is up.

Sure, and the misreporting of jobs created which turned out to be nonexistent here in Massachusetts was also human error. And it was probably a mistake to classify pay raises as "jobs saved". And it was probably another mistake to crow about how many jobs were created without understanding the flaws in all the data.

I have to ask, if the report says they created say 60 jobs in a non-existent district like District 15 in AZ (we only have 8), at a cost of say $700,000, where exactly is that money going???

I care less about the lies (sorry, errors) as far as counting jobs. I am concerned more with what they are using our money for. Clearly, they are supposed to account for all of the spending of our tax dollars.

In other words if there was $787 billion to start with, and there is now say $600 billion, they have to tell us where the other $187 billion went. If we got the truth on $100 billion, and lies (errors) on $87 billion, I want to know where that $87 billion went. Don't take my numbers as facts. They are only meant as a demo.

all of those things (even the misleading and irrelevant ones) only prove that he is a politician. He may not be as perfect a specimen as the rest of them, but he is relatively new on the scene. Give him a little time, and his list will be as long as ANY other politician's...

BHO's list is every bit as long as any politician, it's just gonna take a while to dig up all the skeletons...... Mayor Daley has them all buried in a safe place...... under all the dead folks that voted for JFK in 1960.

According to Recovery.gov...there were 5000 jobs created in Talladega, Alabama with $42K of stimulus... ahhhhh no matter how ya slice it, seems like 5000 people are getting paid $8.40 per person per year.

I like the calculations that save more jobs than there are people in the community. If it wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious.

You have to be an utter fool to believe them when they suggest healthcare reform will be deficit neutral or that gov has a clue about how to control costs. All evidence proves otherwise.
