McConnell Opposes Bailout
It looks like the auto bailout faces a rough road in the senate. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said today “this proposal isn’t nearly enough,” He demanded stricter reforms, but his opposition is ideological. “A government big enough to give us everything we want is a government big enough to take everything we have,” he said. If other Republicans follow McConnell’s lead, it’s unlikely that Democrats will reach the 60 votes necessary to pass the bailout. Last night, the House passed the bailout bill 237 to 170.

OK. We get it. You don't like doing this. Guess what, we don't like you having to do this. Unfortunately, a small group of people supposedly smart enough to run institutions the size of GM, Bear Stearnes, AIG have screwed us all. But if you do nothing, then the whole country falls in your lap. Which is fine if when my dad loses his job you pick up his mortgage, health insurance and car payment...what? Why is it so quiet on your end. Oh, that's right: you're independently wealthy and continue to make money probably through illegal transactions and pay-to-play politics. Fantastic. We're all screwed
I'm a student,
and i look at individual tax payers money going to hugely mismanaged billion dollar companies, by the ten thousands per each individual!!!!
Why dont we just give each american a brand new american made electric car from new innovative companies to each household,,,, that will spur the economy fO Shaw
