Meet the Press Tops Ratings

For years Tim Russert and Meet the Press ruled Sunday mornings. Now, if his first few shows are any indication, David Gregory will rule Sunday mornings. On December 21, Meet the Press outdrew ABC’s This Week by more than a million viewers; Face the Nation and Fox News Sunday were third and fourth, respectively. The Hollywood Reporter points out that even the MTP re-airing on MSNBC beat a live Late Edition on CNN.

David Gregory is a fop. A social butterfly. He wouldn't know a penetrating question if it was penetrating him. Too much inside the Beltway partyboying for him to be any more than that.
I don't expect much and I'm sure that is what we'll get- not much.
His other show was a miserable failure 1600 Pennsylvania ave- was so boring. All it did was retread the exact same material as the show b4 it. Nothing insightful or informative- just rehash.

Why didn't they give it to someone smart? Like Gwen Ifell or if they had to stay in-house- that guy Chuck Todd knows what he's talking about. Instead we got GADFLY GREGORY.
What a joke.
I'm switching to Stephanopolos' show next week. I gave Gregory his shot- but he's the sme blah blah blah as 1600 PA ave.

This probably has more to do with the new anchor than people actually watching the show.

David Gregory is an adequate newsman however, he can't carry the unbiased credibility factor needed to be a great replacement for Tim Russert. I don't know anyone on todays stage that can. At this point it seems he is just trying to hard.
