Michael Jackson's Massive Memorial
The children of Martin Luther King, Jr., actress Brooke Shields, Rev. Al Sharpton, and basketball stars Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson spoke Tuesday at the memorial for Michael Jackson in Los Angeles. The most heartbreaking moment came at the end of the service, when Jackson's 11-year-old daughter, Paris, took to the stage for an emotional farewell. Mariah Carey stood on a stage, above Jackson's golden casket, and sung a rendition of the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There." Queen Latifah read a poem from Maya Angelou. Stevie Wonder played the piano. "This is a moment I wish I didn't live to see come," Stevie Wonder said. Approximately 20,000 people gathered in the Staples Center for the event. Meanwhile, millions if not billions watched ad-free coverage on the broadcast and cable news networks.

If this circus doesn't give everyone bleeding ulcers, then the world deserves the massive storm that's coming.
I will repeat what I said to you on an earlier post. This comming from someone who's foot print on this planet will be noticed by no one but your small family. This tortured soul touched millions of people across this planet with his music and dance. What have you done?
It is what we haven't done, such as molest a child. Don't be so unappreciative of the live's of ordinary decent people. We glue the world together. MJ was a great talent but he was clearly insane, vindictive in his own personal life, and harmed young boys. He suffered from his own madness and also received great benefits and privileges for his great talents.
@angel
Oh, you're psychic? Knowing who I am and about my life?
As maddy said, what I haven't done is molest little children. I think that he did this is more important than anything else he did do.
JDK, theonly true thing you said was "I think" outside of that you've got nothing else.
@angel
Ok, deary.
Now run along and play some MJ music like all the other morons. Squirt some tears for the molester.

MICHAEL IS THE KING OF POP.
He is not dead. You will know the truth if you read the forums at this celeb dating club:
___Tiny.cc/phuT0 ____ .
His best friend is writing blogs there and thousands people joined her fan club till now.
I am so glad it was peaceful and is over.
I'm not a Michael fan, and quite frankly, sick of all the coverage these last weeks.
I also was unable to watch the entire memorial, but during lunch I saw Smokey's eulogy. And on several news updates, I caught snipets..
From what I saw, that was one of the most beautiful, heartfelt, and touching memorials I have ever seen. Even I was brought to tears.
And bravo to the people of LA for respecting the wishes of the family....and keeping it real, with no mobs at the Staple Center.
Quite a send off for a pervert.
I think it might be you that is more twisted and perverted.
It's amazing what celebrity machines can make money off of. I guess it's capitalism at its most opportunistic.
maddymappo, you can believe what ever you want, but all your doing is spreading rumors that you can't prove. The man was never found guilty of any charges. He was found not guilty of all charges by a jury of his peers. He has been convicted by the press, who has no evidence to back up any of the charges.
Spreading rumors? No. He was a pervert. Those who portray MJ as a great humanitarian are spreading the media hype and rumors perpetrated by MJ himself. Read:
http://www.vanityfair.com/online/politics/2009/06/michael-jackson-is-gon e-but-the-sad-facts-remain.html
Nice try, trying to pass off a vanityfair opinion peice as fact based, but its kind of short on facts and long on opinion.
That he paid them all MILLIONS of dollars says enough to me about the whole situation.
The family who charged him in court, didn't get a dime. He settled with someone, but unless that person comes forward, its just guess work as to what or why. Those are facts, not opinions.
Ted Kennedy paid money to the Kopechne family in the drowning death of their daughter due to his intoxication, but he's still considered to be one of the best Senators in the US. It was never proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Jackson molested any kids, but he sure did put himself into a situation that one might think that he had. Don't think we'll ever know.......
He was, however, a great pop musician and did contribute money to humanitarian projects in Africa.
i don't think there is much "guess work" involved with someone paying off millions of dollars to settle a lawsuit. if i wasn't guilty of a crime, i would use those millions to fight for my defense, to fight for the truth to be revealed, to fight for what is right.
@angel
Ok, sweetie.
Now go back to playing with your toys.
i think the world's gone mad. it's one thing to respect a talent and to admire that talent, but this has degenerated into a type of mob insanity.
as if 24-7 of tributes and re-tellings wasn't enough, the "funeral" was a bit over the top. a tribute would have been more apt, but this was a funeral. and i find it a bit disingenuous to have subjected his children to what was a spectacle - not for them, but for the "performers."
i caught the tail-end of all of this to see what they were doing with it, and wow, seriously, that's all i can think of: the world has gone mad. i like entertainment as well, maybe more, than the next person - but this?
this seems to be what the media does best now - whip up mob frenzy.
It's mostly AfAm frenzy. Let them sob and moan about someone who actually tricked them all.
I don't mean to speak bad of the deceased but I think that everyone should remember that in addition to be an amazing entertainer, MJ was a child molester. That is a fact that everyone seems to be ignoring.
I find all this rather funny, not having been a big fan of MJ, but having worked in the music scene for years. I have seen all the leeches, vultures and money grabbers wreck countless lives. Ozone69 repeats as fact, a fact that has never been proven in any court in this land. Some people seem to ignore all the kids who were at Jacksons ranch and said nothing ever happenend, and they far outweigh the number of money grabbers who have said otherwise.
@angel
And OJ was innocent, too.
What a stupid comment. Anyone who watched the OJ trial knows that the prosecution did a horrible job presenting their case. The prosecution in the Jackson trial presented what they thought was a good case. They put the mother and the boy on the stand, and neither of them swayed the jury. The fact that they tried to get money out of Jackson before comming forward with the charge, kind of did them in, with the jury.
@angel
But he ended up giving them all they wanted, like the other children who accused him.
"Just pay 'em off and get me some more."
It is NOT a fact. I call bull on the child molestation charges.
DBFan... If anyone did that to my child I wouldn't settle for any amount of money. I'd want that person behind bars. So I have my doubts about the parents. How could you live with yourself? It's like pimping your child.
I think after the invasion of privacy (they took pictures of his genitalia), and embarrassment MJ just wanted some peace.
But the fact that you're folks are so willing to believe something that you could not in fact KNOW (unless you are one of the children who made the accusations or GOD), shows what kind of people you are. So it's really pointless to argue with you.
I agree, kiwi... it's pointless to argue with drones.
We all know that if you are found not guilty in a court of law, you didn't do it!
please do not impose your religious beliefs on others.
And to top it off... you're not that bright.
JDK - So if you're accused in the court of law you're always guilty?
DBFan - who mentioned religion?
Uff... please do not breed.
kiwibelle: (unless you are one of the children who made the accusations or GOD)
Because God is supposed to be all seeing and all knowing. And if he existed he would know. As would the child who accused MJ. It was hypothetical.
So not I'm not imposing anything... sweetie.
kiwi:Because God is supposed to be all seeing and all knowing. And if he existed he would know.
there is no god. it's a fantasy. but whatever. just don't assume everyone believes as you do.
Not sure why I'm doing you favors... but you may benefit from this quote:
"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."
kiwibelle: please refrain from involving your religious attitude upon others.
Then don't speak bad of the deceased. How damn hard is that?

Just like a weekend at NeverLand. So 'touching'...
Neither was OJ. But OJ didn't toss the Goldman family $20 million of hush money.
Please get your facts stright. The mother and kid who accused Jackson in court didn't get a dime.
Thank God it's all over. Let's all pray that the children he molested rest in peace, too!
What childeren would that be? Got some names? Got some facts? Didn't think so.
They don't need facts angels81. They just KNOW because... well the news media opinion pieces have told them so.
Anyways, I'm with you.
Is that you, Debbie Rowe?????

I think even with the funeral of a president, the tv news stations, should take a pause now and then, to give other news. Everyone doesn't have a computer, or even cable.
It wasn't as big a deal as they thought. Attendents were actually giving away tickets outside just to fill up the center.
What ? There's no FREE computer program for the poor ?
God, they pushed that little white distraught girl in front of the mic while she cried her eyes out for her white dead dad. What a shame that was with smiling Jessy the whore Jackson stood in the back round and while Aunt Janet pushed the girl's face into the mic and commanded her to speak up.
She asked to speak asshat. The man was her father who she loved. You really are a cold SOB. Lets hope when you pass away, your kids care enough to speak of their love of you.
Let you not make veiled curses.

You sure can tell who the right-wing extremist jihadist are on the Beast.FAKE christians going around screwing other people's wifes and going to different country to get screwed cause his wife is'nt taking care of business nothing but a bunch of phonys. Its was great tribute to a legend it was very touching moment and Sad and happy at the time like you said squiggy I am glad its over and he is put to rest.
huh? i'm a lifelong democrat. never voted republican - ever. and i'm far from a "fake christian" since i'm not a "christian" at all.
stop assuming.
Thank God this is over. If it went on much longer, we'd convince ourselves he was the 2nd coming of Jesus.
The man touched millions of people around the world. When he did the "WE are the World video" he raised 44 million dollars for aid to Africa. He gave millions of dollars to aids victims, can you say the same? Millions of people around the world watched today. I would say that was news worth spending time on.
The man touched nobody. You're totally imagining it. He was a cypher to one and all. Including himself.

You know I was thinking the same thing.
God in Heaven, is this guy in the ground yet? I can't stand another minute of this.
One less child molester around. Godspeed pervert!
I think it might be you that is twisted and perverted.
great song...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtcWU1lyssk
This song is God-awful. I see you posting it everywhere. Are you trying to get into this poor girl's pants?
who are you, this site's fairy godmother?
It is two very different things to say: (1) he was never convicted in a court of law; and (2) it never happened. I could list countless examples where the guilty walk free and the innocent are convicted. My faith in the judicial system, while not abrogated, is somewhat tempered. (This coming from a lawyer.)
What I'm left with is lingering questions. Why settle out of court if you are convinced of your innocence? Why not make some statement, ANY STATEMENT, against the Vanity Fair piece, if it is untrue? What normal adult male has sleepovers with children? Hell, what multi-million dollar mogul has sleepovers with children?
So, no, I cannot legally indict MJ for his past. But I am all to aware that the legal system functions differently for the rich and the poor. He was a great musician. That is not in doubt. But he was one F****D UP individual, and I despise this demigod status being bestowed on him after his death.
love him
NDSquid
i agree with you 100% he was a perverted freak who should have spent his last years being bruno's sextoy in the big house. as an entertainer he was great, as a human being he failed miserably. The father of the little boy back in 93 or 95 should get his a$$ kicked for pimping his kid out. al sharpton, and jessie jackson are trying to make this freak a martyr. i don't want my children looking up to him, he is not a role model
NDSquid i hope all is well in your world
god bless you and yours
enough of this crap
get back to the news and do your job

Royalty in celebrity America.
He was a mega-star.
A mega millionaire.
A mega entertainer.
Now his universe will close around those who want his
mega-estate.
R.I.P.
Why are we acting so naive? Great artists don't have to be "good people" or even "nice". I would hate to live in a world that disposed of all art created by perverts and ass holes....yes he was a great performer and yes all the fuss was way over the top.
JACKO & FARRAH: Remind Me Again Which One Had Anal Cancer. Why I Hated Michael Jackson.
Besides his luring young boys into sexual abuse by calling wine "Jesus juice"?
I hated Michael Jackson because he sold records by the hundreds of millions after he couldn't sing anymore. The key words are: "after" & "anymore". The first Jackson 5 LP was great, and offhand I can't think of a boy-soprano who ever had a voice as pure. Or as soulful.
But it changed. I used to get irritated at great and lesser comedians who parodied Jackson's effeminate speaking voice. From his mid-teens on, the easy joke was that it hadn't changed during puberty.
My hammer, anvil & stirrup bones would make you surprised I'm not musician. So I can't technically explain how badly Jacko's voice changed. But take 'Billie Jean', for example. A mediocre melody, but with brilliant, driving, relentless chords. Then Jacko starts singing and ruins what could have been the only decent song he ever wrote. He can't get through a single line without adding woo-hoos, "hiccupped phrasing" stolen from Buddy Holly, and something that sounds like barking. Vocal flourishes? No, the pure desperation of someone who knows he lost his pipes years ago.
It should be noted the first Jackson 5 LP was entirely written by other songwriters. So here's a guy who can't write songs, can't sing and yet manages to sell tons of solo records. Maybe Mencken should be updated: "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of gozzleheads worldwide."
OK, he could dance a little, but even that was marred by his constant grabbing of his crotch. But from the nauseating amount of coverage his death has generated, you'd think it was a combination of Holland-Dozier-Holland and Albert Schweitzer who'd died. All these ridiculous statements, some even using the absolutely unwarranted word "genius" to describe the "King of Pop". The Prince of Pederasts is more like it, and a post-puberty Musical Joke. What did Michael Jackson & John Wayne Gacy have in common? They both liked to wear clown costumes and entertain young boys.
Poor Farrah. Unlike most men I'm not blinded to hideous features by peroxide. I could count the blondes I've ever hankered for on one hand, if I had a couple fingers missing. Farrah wasn't one of my blondes but she came close; she was far from hideous, and struck me as a good egg. She unfortunately broke a cardinal showbiz rule: Don't die on the same day as someone more famous than you. Second billing can be cruel.
With Farrah dying, and the way the stinkin' media has covered Jacko, you'd think it was the 4th of July, 1826. That was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. "It is a great day; it is a good day," John Adams said on what would be his last. In the afternoon his thoughts turned to his old friend-turned enemy-then closer friend, Thomas Jefferson. Not knowing Jefferson had passed away a few hours before in then-distant Virginia, Adams said, "Thomas Jefferson survives." Adams himself died before sunset. Overrated though both men were, do ya think some of Farrah's last words echoed Adams's? "Ah well, Jacko survives."
The celebration of Michael's life today was not meant for everyone. It's expected that there are those who will dwell on the negativity, speculation and controversy about Michael...and to those people I say this...Opinions are like @ssholes...everyone has one. This day wasn't meant for you to enjoy anyhow. Haters get on your job! But for those of us who loved Michael and his music we will have wonderful memories to share for our lifetime and today was a gift for us. No matter what people say about Michael, nothing can change the fact that Michael Jackson was one of the most loved human beings on this planet and today was a reflection of that. People all over the world who loved him were united in so strongly in heart that nothing...not even false accusations of child molestation could overshadow the love the world shared for his music and his life here on this earth. He will live on through his music always and forever and there isn't enough hate to change that. Love will conquer all. The MJ Haters are clearly in the minority here and all over the world so...BEAT IT! RIP Michael. We love you!!!
All this talk about haters. You are the product of an emotionally immature culture. You have zero ability to think objectively and so you see everything as black or white. How ironic, since Jacko kinda wrote a song about NOT doing that.
I am disgusted by your self-righteous smugness (you are most certainly not alone!) as are MANY sober sensible people who have observed this emotional drunk-fest the last week or so. You've bought totally into mass media's creation and are its dupe and its pawn. Congratulations. Hug all your Jacko CDs. I'm sure they'll hug you back. The multi-national corporations who stand to make a fortune on all this hoopla thank you too.
tvalentine,
with all due respect his music was amazing, his dancing is still unique all these years later. you can't take that away from him. mr jackson was definetly one of the wirdest men on the planet. your right he was never convicted of the rape charges if jordans father didn't pimp his son out things might have been different. jordan spoke to law enforcement and described mr jackson private area, when law enforcement got their search warrent to look at him naked the boy was right, he even described a mole mr jackson has that can't been seen under normal circumstances. the father accepted his offer of 22 million dollars and jordan recanted his claims. the district attorney couldn't continue.
I don't believe mj when he says he just wanted it to go away but i'm innocent, mj did what he felt he had to do to stay out of jail. I blame the father for caring more about money than he cares about his son. If it was me and my kid I would have found a way to kick the living crap out of him, had him arrestted, then get the money in a civil suit.
any way tvalentine thats just my opinion (lol i have one of those too lol) i hope the pain he caused that family never touches your family .... be well, be happy, god bless you and yours
Thank you.
