Michael Jackson's Massive Memorial

The children of Martin Luther King, Jr., actress Brooke Shields, Rev. Al Sharpton, and basketball stars Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson spoke Tuesday at the memorial for Michael Jackson in Los Angeles. The most heartbreaking moment came at the end of the service, when Jackson's 11-year-old daughter, Paris, took to the stage for an emotional farewell. Mariah Carey stood on a stage, above Jackson's golden casket, and sung a rendition of the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There." Queen Latifah read a poem from Maya Angelou. Stevie Wonder played the piano. "This is a moment I wish I didn't live to see come," Stevie Wonder said. Approximately 20,000 people gathered in the Staples Center for the event. Meanwhile, millions if not billions watched ad-free coverage on the broadcast and cable news networks.

I will repeat what I said to you on an earlier post. This comming from someone who's foot print on this planet will be noticed by no one but your small family. This tortured soul touched millions of people across this planet with his music and dance. What have you done?

It is what we haven't done, such as molest a child. Don't be so unappreciative of the live's of ordinary decent people. We glue the world together. MJ was a great talent but he was clearly insane, vindictive in his own personal life, and harmed young boys. He suffered from his own madness and also received great benefits and privileges for his great talents.

Oh, you're psychic? Knowing who I am and about my life?

As maddy said, what I haven't done is molest little children. I think that he did this is more important than anything else he did do.

So many vicious attacks against people who don't love who you do. I've seen this before on the internet.

I'm not a Michael fan, and quite frankly, sick of all the coverage these last weeks.

I also was unable to watch the entire memorial, but during lunch I saw Smokey's eulogy. And on several news updates, I caught snipets..

From what I saw, that was one of the most beautiful, heartfelt, and touching memorials I have ever seen. Even I was brought to tears.

And bravo to the people of LA for respecting the wishes of the family....and keeping it real, with no mobs at the Staple Center.

maddymappo, you can believe what ever you want, but all your doing is spreading rumors that you can't prove. The man was never found guilty of any charges. He was found not guilty of all charges by a jury of his peers. He has been convicted by the press, who has no evidence to back up any of the charges.

Spreading rumors? No. He was a pervert. Those who portray MJ as a great humanitarian are spreading the media hype and rumors perpetrated by MJ himself. Read:

The family who charged him in court, didn't get a dime. He settled with someone, but unless that person comes forward, its just guess work as to what or why. Those are facts, not opinions.

Ted Kennedy paid money to the Kopechne family in the drowning death of their daughter due to his intoxication, but he's still considered to be one of the best Senators in the US. It was never proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Jackson molested any kids, but he sure did put himself into a situation that one might think that he had. Don't think we'll ever know.......
He was, however, a great pop musician and did contribute money to humanitarian projects in Africa.

i don't think there is much "guess work" involved with someone paying off millions of dollars to settle a lawsuit. if i wasn't guilty of a crime, i would use those millions to fight for my defense, to fight for the truth to be revealed, to fight for what is right.

i think the world's gone mad. it's one thing to respect a talent and to admire that talent, but this has degenerated into a type of mob insanity.

as if 24-7 of tributes and re-tellings wasn't enough, the "funeral" was a bit over the top. a tribute would have been more apt, but this was a funeral. and i find it a bit disingenuous to have subjected his children to what was a spectacle - not for them, but for the "performers."

i caught the tail-end of all of this to see what they were doing with it, and wow, seriously, that's all i can think of: the world has gone mad. i like entertainment as well, maybe more, than the next person - but this?

this seems to be what the media does best now - whip up mob frenzy.

I find all this rather funny, not having been a big fan of MJ, but having worked in the music scene for years. I have seen all the leeches, vultures and money grabbers wreck countless lives. Ozone69 repeats as fact, a fact that has never been proven in any court in this land. Some people seem to ignore all the kids who were at Jacksons ranch and said nothing ever happenend, and they far outweigh the number of money grabbers who have said otherwise.

What a stupid comment. Anyone who watched the OJ trial knows that the prosecution did a horrible job presenting their case. The prosecution in the Jackson trial presented what they thought was a good case. They put the mother and the boy on the stand, and neither of them swayed the jury. The fact that they tried to get money out of Jackson before comming forward with the charge, kind of did them in, with the jury.

But he ended up giving them all they wanted, like the other children who accused him.

"Just pay 'em off and get me some more."

kiwibelle

It is NOT a fact. I call bull on the child molestation charges.

DBFan... If anyone did that to my child I wouldn't settle for any amount of money. I'd want that person behind bars. So I have my doubts about the parents. How could you live with yourself? It's like pimping your child.

I think after the invasion of privacy (they took pictures of his genitalia), and embarrassment MJ just wanted some peace.

But the fact that you're folks are so willing to believe something that you could not in fact KNOW (unless you are one of the children who made the accusations or GOD), shows what kind of people you are. So it's really pointless to argue with you.

God, they pushed that little white distraught girl in front of the mic while she cried her eyes out for her white dead dad. What a shame that was with smiling Jessy the whore Jackson stood in the back round and while Aunt Janet pushed the girl's face into the mic and commanded her to speak up.
