NBC Bans Coulter

The conservative pundit Ann Coulter’s media tour has hit a brick wall over at 30 Rock: Matt Drudge is reporting she’s been banned from NBC for life. Coulter was scheduled to appear on the Today show tomorrow morning to promote her new book, Guilty, but the network canceled on her. NBC had come under criticism for helping the controversial Coulter sell copies of her book, in which she mocks Michelle Obama’s style, refers to Obama as B. Hussein, and—you guessed it—bashes the “liberal media” for fawning over the president-elect.

Wow, don't they realize this "ban" just confirms what Coulter says about them?

Who cares?

I bet Hitler bashed Allgemeine Zeitung for not flogging Mein Kampf too.

Come to think of it, Hitler might have a very good plagiarism case against Coulter. You should compare their prose. It's rather uncanny, the resemblance.

@cstuple: Do you not realize there is a difference between caustic partisanism and constructive criticism? Perhaps NBC has finally decided that it's time for the latter and no more of the former. Do you really think calling our president "B. Hussein" is helpful at this critical point in our economic crisis??
I for one am very glad that someone in the media has chosen to grow up and be responsible instead of going for the lowest common denominator in the interest of fast, cheap profits.

I don't think her new book is going to go over well with thinking people. And as for the author, throw water on her and she'll melt even faster and good riddance to that "Thing in Heels".

Yeah! It's about time that the media stops giving a platform to divisive, inflammatory rhetoric from radicals who wants to make a buck through hatred at the cost of national unity. Even Fox News seems to have caught on that America has no stomach for Coulter-esque nonsense anymore. Now that's change I can believe in.

@ktappe "Do you not realize there is a difference between caustic partisanism and constructive criticism?"

By having only 2 sides to this particular argument there is no difference between "caustic partisanism and constructive criticism". Its still the opposite side of the coin. When you can take it beyond the blue and red.. then you will know what it is to be free ..

I guess the freedom of speech is going to be reserved for liberals only! Witness MSNBC's Keith Olbermann's put-down
of a Republican senator - just for the *fun* of it - during his Monday night show. So yeah - they want a kinder, gentler rhetoric - but only for their own heroes. The Age of Censorship begins!
