Obama Ducks Blago Questions

Barack Obama & Joe Biden
AP

President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden held a news conference in Chicago Tuesday to announce their education secretary nominee, but reporters were more interested in questions about disgraced Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Obama did say how his senate seat should be filled-"I'm going to let the state Legislature make a determination"-before cutting off additional questions about the matter and showing frustration. Meanwhile, Obama's nominee has local pride: Arne Duncan, the head of Chicago public schools.

And so it goes, what a "change"

Thank God that newspapers and reporters have to generate something for filler to sell their publications to survive which might actually force their reporters to ask Obama questions.

But based on the sidestepping so far, it appears that it is "see nothing, hear nothing, say nothing"

LOL.... change we hope for..... LOL

Expectedly there are those that are ready to pounce on nearly any sign of a fissure in this mans moral integrity illusory or not, their very cynical natures (not wholly unjustified) being their fate. Then there are those that follow blindly their overly trusting, and non skeptical natures binding. Extremes are never productive IMHO. The facts are facts. Fitzgerald the bloodhound has asked Obama not to release anything until next week. Naturally Obama, in order not to excacerbate things, is remaining vague. So far it seems Obama was unwilling to provide anything but his gratitude to Blago. There is not a single iota of unethical behaviour YET witnessed. And here I thought we lived in a society who believed in innocent until proven guilty.

This thing shows every sign of being a media-manufactured "crisis". It's only a "crisis" for Obama if he did something, and that's far from a foregone conclusion at this point. The headline on this one is ridiculous -- Obama hasn't ducked anything that I can see. He's been cautious, that's all -- and that's a good thing. Unless, of course, your a bored journalist desperately looking for a scandal to report.
