Obama’s Blago Review Clears Rahm
George Stephanopoulos has an early look at the Obama team’s internal review of its contacts with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, and the news is good for Rahm Emanuel. The incoming chief of staff, sources tell the ABC newsman, had only one “pro-forma” courtesy phone call with Blago, and only a “passing reference”—no deal—was made to Obama’s vacated Senate seat. Rahm also talked four times with Blago’s chief of staff, John Harris, about the seat, and made the case for picking Obama pal Valerie Jarrett, though he confirmed that all Blago would get was “appreciation” for it. The president-elect had expressed frustration over the US attorney’s request that he delay the release of his team’s review of its involvement with Blago’s alleged attempts to sell the Senate seat; it’s expected to be released this week.

Our need for Reform is directly proportional to the amount of time it takes to remove this stain from office. Let this be the first of many reminders to Politicians, Judges, Lawyers and Clerks, who hide behind 'offices' and 'processes' while paperwork defending your Constitutional Rights is being deposited in the wrong bin. What a farce! It goes back to shades of Watergate, Contragate, Clintongate and Libbygate. All these self internal reviews mean nothing. In Chicago politic which Emanuel knows all that well it mean patronage and monetary favors for your friends and family. The code word "appreciation" for Emanuel means ambassadorships, deputy cabinet posts or construction contracts to your friends. Emanuel knows better than to say "we"ll take of you" would be inappropriate. These guys act no differently than the Mob where favors are doled out to those who perform according to the wishes of the "don." Just imagine if Blago told Emanuel to take a hike and he's going to appoint himself as Senator or his wife. Emanuel would have went wacko and been vindicative.
So the Obama administration has cleared the Obama administration of any wrongdoing. So that's what Obama and his followers meant by "change". We'll take the man at his word. Its a true measure of how stupid Bush was that he never thought of settling such questions the same way. I'm feeling better already.
Please, as if they would do anything but deny it. Of course they knew about it. My question is if Blago is really that arrogant (and politicians are, Bill got away with it) or if he has serious dirt on people and is threatening to take them down with him.
