Palin: Couric Had Low Self-Esteem
We have details! In her new memoir, Going Rogue, Sarah Palin says that Sen. John McCain's aides kept her “bottled up,” that Katie Couric was “badgering” and biased, and that Charlie Gibson wasn’t interested in “substantive issues.” Palin claims that she went on as a favor and that Couric suffers from low self-esteem. She also complains that the McCain campaign charged her $50,000 for the vetting she received. According to the Associated Press, “she was told McCain’s camp would have paid all the bills if he’d won; since he lost, the vetting legal bills were her responsibility.”

First printing for Sarah Palins book, a million and a half. Not bad for a girl from Alaska. I really liked Katies husband, he used to be on Geraldo alot during the OJ trial, but can't stand her.

Or the girl from Wasilla who left her town millions in debt while she got a sports arena near her lake house, also likely built by the contractors? The bookstores need to put her book in the FICTION dept. The McCain campaign denies they billed her for vetting and I would believe them over her. Just one of many falsehoods in the book. But what would anyone expect? Too bad her ditto heads don't use their brains.

Can someone explain to me what they mean by vetted, and the vetted billing. I don't understand what they are talking about. I searched, and it doesn't make sense to me.
Vet: To subject to thorough examination or evaluation
dooreen: It's a background check to make sure nothing nasty turns up later during the campaign - like John Edwards' mistress and illegitimate child, for example.
Before someone gets nominated, they get "vetted" by the national party or the person doing the nominating. This means an extensive background check, which costs money (for investigators to interview neighbors, etc.)
I think the phrase comes from buying horses -- you wouldn't want to buy one which had not been "vetted" first, i.e., checked over thoroughly by a veterinarian.

It must be so difficult to be Sarah Palin--to have the burden of naturally knowing so much more about every possible subject than people who have spent years studying! And to be the only sane intelligent person on the planet surrounded by incompetent, neurotic imbeciles. And to be God's special little envoy here on Earth--only Sarah truly knows God's will. Poor, poor Saint Sarah!
