Put Pelosi ‘in Her Place,’ Says NRCC
Nothing like a Washington feud for some good old-fashioned he said-she said: Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz ridiculed the GOP as "80 percent male, 100 percent white" in response to the National Republican Congressional Committee's spokesman urging Gen. Stanley McChrystal to put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "in her place." The NRCC's sneering statement was in response to Pelosi's comment on Charlie Rose—which echoed similar ones from Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and National Security Adviser Jim Jones—that the Afghanistan commander should "go up the line of command" when pushing for his military strategy in that country, instead of, say, giving speeches in London. The NRCC's statement mocked the Speaker as "General Pelosi," and Rep. Wasserman Schultz interpreted the tone as sexist, saying of the Republican Party: "It's evidence they long for the days when a woman's place was in the kitchen. Now a woman is third in line for the presidency... But it's not surprising, coming from a party that's 80 percent male and 100 percent white."

Wasserman Schultz has absolutely no credibility whatsover. The day I see her support a Republican Woman or a Republican Black on anything, I'll rethink that.
oakely
Does that mean that Republican males who don't support male Democrats have no credibility either?
reardongalt
Yes. That's exactly what it means.
oakely
Good for you, reardongalt. You are balanced in your critique, I hope you remain consistent.
AlanD2
reardongalt: Under your definition (as expanded by oakely), are there any credible Republicans?
If not, do you support them anyway?
reardongalt
Alan, alot of times this gets to be like that game "telephone". I can go back to my first statement about Wasserman Schultz, and start all over again. Maybe tomorrow.
Plantagenet
Nancy Pelosi....the gift that keeps on giving. Pelosi is ignorant (as usual) of the fact that Gen. McCrhystal DID send his report "up the line." It was the incompetent bozos in the Obama administration who leaked it to the public and caused the whole controversy.
piktor
What we got here is the winnie/Plantoid axis of reactionary sneer!
PYTHONCHARLY
what a liar !
the general tried to get some GOP airtime,
look for this clown to be running for a republi'con' seat after he retires next year.

Pelosi fights against posting bills online so the public can read them
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Congressional-leaders-fight-a gainst-posting-bills-online-8340658-63557217.html
Obama should be standing up for transparency and fighting against Pelosi for transparency instead of standing silently by while Pelosi secretly writes the bills.
piktor
Pelosi's a fighter and we like her like that!

Plantagenet: You're right. Pelosi is the gift that is going to give Americans health care reform. She still says the House bill will have a public option, so there is still hope for us liberals.
ChanRobt
Typical bankrupt retort.
Criticize Obama and it's racism.
Criticize Pelosi and its sexism.
Have any Democrats had an original idea since 1972?
PYTHONCHARLY
how about the criticism is phony so it must be what it is.
by the way
did you find anything in your buddy gw bush/cheney to criticize during the last ten years,
I bet not.
Darksun45230
Typical conservative response.
Say something potentially damaging then turn the tables to make yourselves look like the victims.
At least Democrats don't use talking points to do all their thinking.

THIS CLOWN WANTS TO BE A REPUBLI'CON' SENATOR,

Time for McChrystal to be FIRED - TODAY!!!! AND his boss, Betrayus, as well..
THEN, Holder can file a conspiracy to commit murder case against McCrystal for Tillman's death; THEN Holder can file War Crimes charges against him for Abu Grahib...SO, the republican savior will be a bit busy FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE IN THE HAGUE !!! Scum Bag....and these phony republican automatons.. hopefully they follow Bachmann out in the middle of an expressway soon...
Glenda1976
He should fire both generals and listen to who, that a$$ clown Biden? You're joking right?
AlanD2
Glenda1976: Biden's got more sense than you do, apparently.

Afghanistan is hard. If we stay and fight is it worth the cost? If we leave are prepared for losing the country to the Taliban and possibly losing Pakistan, who have nukes. Difficult decisions, for sure. But I would be a hell lot more inclined to listen to Petraeus & McChrystal over a$$ clown Joe Biden.
AlanD2
Glenda1976: I'm sure you listened to the generals during the Vietnam war too.
If they had been given their way, we would still be fighting in Vietnam today...
ChanRobt
So, mcmchugh, now it's a "long quagmire war". When your boy was running, and since he was elected, he said it was the "real war," the "war of necessity".
He made a point of replacing the former commander who had done no wrong, with McChrystal, who has a reputation for being the finest commander in the world to fight this kind of difficult war.
Then, when the Left starts to rattle the White House cage, the steadfast men from Chicago start looking for ways to weasel out of something tough.
It's not for nothing that Democrats have not been trusted with national defense for nearly 40 years.

You are right, the whole thing is a trap -- if he doesn't double down, he'd be called a wimp. If he does and it gets messy, they'll nail him with it.
The question is: where was this Afghan war crowd these last seven years when that theater was abandoned? Why, all of a sudden, did they just realize Afghanistan was this important? So important they won't even give the president a couple of weeks to make a decision. The same people who, during the campaign, ridiculed Obama on Afghanistan have now turned around to pretend they are more eager than he is on that front.
AlanD2
ChanRobt: George W. Bush and Dick Cheney ignored reports in August 2001 of a possible terrorist attack by bin Laden, the last chance they had to prevent 9/11.
Afterward, they got us into two unwinnable wars. Eight years later, we are no closer to a "victory" than we were when these wars started. (Remember "Mission Accomplished!" in 2002?)
I see no reason that any Republican should be trusted with our national defense.
donquijoterocket
who gave him that rep?The reactionaries have not been "trusted withnational defense" for the last 40 years either, they've been trusted to keep a foot in the door of the treasury for the military industrial complex and to keep the revolving door between the congress, the contractors and K street spinning smoothly and were anyone to try to change that the reactionary's howling would sound like lycanthropes on the full moon.
reardongalt
I don't think Nancy Pelosi should be in the kitchen. No, I can see her as a lady that goes out and gets a job. Selling bras in Macy's sounds about right.

What size do you wear there Ayn jr?

AlanD Nancy will slur out anything out of that botox mouth, one minute public option next time nada, she is a quivering idiot, she should go back to Sunset Blvd.[ Norma Desmond].
Did anyone catch her on Charlie Rose show, God help us, she is third in line for President.
AlanD2
Hey, Winnie - it beats having Sarah second in line for President any day!
Thank you.
