Rihanna and Chris Brown had a "volatile" relationship before this weekend's alleged assault, an insider tells Us Weekly. A close friend of Rihanna's saw visible bruises on the singer's neck in December. "She told me, 'We broke up again,'" the pal recalls. "I didn't pursue the issue further." Meanwhile, things keep going downhill for Brown, 19, since the altercation the night before the Grammy Awards: two of hip-hop's biggest stars, Jay-Z and Kanye West, have come out in defense of Rihanna; his rented Lamborghini was impounded; and his Valentine's Day gig was canceled. Brown's sister says that he "is coping" after being released on a $50,000 bail on Sunday night.

When i first heard this on BET i was shocked cause this isn't chris brown's behavior. But on that same note the media wants to look at chris like it's all his fault how do we know rihanna didn't put hands on him first?Society is so quick to get the women side of the story without even caring about what the man has to say. First they say she had bruises on her face, then neck, now she has a busted lip and black eye? Come on everyday she gets new bruises on parts of her body. Did she deserve to get hit, no, no women does but i happen to know someone personnaly that dated her and he said she's bitchy, controlling, and very jealous and said that he had to dump her before he had put hands on her. I just wish chris would've got out that car sooner than what he did so that all this reports on television wouldn't have emerged. Im still going to continue to support chris with his music and anything else he wants to do. I knew from the jump he shouldn't have got with that thing, now because of her, his music is in jeopardy or worse, jail time

I am apalled that people are reaching out to Chris Brown. Granted noone knows Rihanna and what ensued in that car ....but to insinuate that she or any human being deserves to be beaten??? ...My goodness I am so scared for the youth ....How people are condoning Chris' action scares the hell out of me and I feel it is wrong.
Noone has has the right to hit another and I just hope that Rihanna has people who really care about her who can advise her. She can find a much better man who does not resort to violence to sort out their differences ...Look at history, Whitney, Tina Turner...It doesnt get better...The likelihood is he will beat her again ....She is so young and it is so sad to watch her life and her future being put at risk for so called 'love'.
Don't condone someone being beaten, whatever happened. It is wrong
