Steele: Rush, I'm Sorry

Want to know who’s really in charge of the Republican Party? New RNC chairman Michael Steele has apologized to Rush Limbaugh for calling him an “entertainer,” “incendiary,” and “ugly.” “My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Steele said in an interview with Politico. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. … There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.” And, as if Limbaugh’s ring needed extra kissing, Louisiana Governor and presidential aspirant Bobby Jindal said he was “glad” Steele apologized.

Apparantly, Sultan Rush only allows enuchs around his harem of conservatives.

It's truly pathetic. However, it is serving to enlighten a number of "on the fence"voters at just how out of touch this group is with mainstream America. We've just barely survived 8 years of Rush and his ilk leading the way....right into a brick wall.

His gotta to win at any cost mentality has cost his nation dearly. He feeds into fear.

I just hope enough people are awake enough to smell the manure.

After all these years, why is the media still giving this under-educated, narcotic addicted blow-hard an audience? Pittsburgh,PA had it right when he was fired from his job as a radio broadcaster!! He is a loud-mouth, sexist, under-educated narcisstic egomanical jerk who does not have the experience or education to qualify him as an authority on government. He did not have the knowledge to correctly quote the Constitution or the Bill of Rights when he was pontificating his beliefs in his speech to the Republicans at the meeting in Washington. If he thinks it is so easy to do the job of government, try running for a seat in Congress. But then again, he might continue to have his thoughts clouded by his narcotic induced paranoia.

I'm a true conservative-A dying breed-And no,the Bush Circus
was not conservative. Most today don't even know the definition of the word.Having said that, let me say this: Rush Limbaugh is a buffoon and windbag. He could have taken the liberal side when he started out just as well. But he figured there was more money in "ditto heads"--He's about as conservative as Barney Frank. It's the money, stupid.

Rush Limbaugh is too smart ever to run for public office. Then he would truly be exposed for the fringe lunatic he is, with probably about as much public support as David Duke has. Indeed, Limbaugh and Duke would make an ideal political ticket -- two birds of a feather and two peas in a pod. As Rahm Emanuel has said: "Limbaugh is the Republicans' problem, and they just have to live with it." As for Obama and the Democrats -- "Limbaugh is the gift that keeps on giving."

Steele is just a house boy. Republicans have an opportunity to bring in new leadership and find a new voice. If that voice comes from Limbaugh's then the GOP is doomed to be continuously despised despite what Obama may or may not accomplish.

Are all the 2 millon listeners to this windbag just as stupid as he is. I suppose so. Only in America can this toad spew hatred and then get all that coverage. The Republicans are the joke at this point. This is one person and the party I want to see fail.

Michael Steele was an empty suit when he was Maryland's Lt. Govenor. I believe the year he ran with Erlich (the original empty suit), the Maryland Republicans put an ad in the paper, " Man of color wanted for unexhilirating position as second banana to a Kennedyesque-looking, right wing moron, who wears a cheesy toupee. No experience needed just dark pigmentation." Did the National Republicans not investigate this dipshit? Just a few weeks on the job, and Steele is making a mess out of things already. Worse, he is already genuflecting in front of the great neocon poobah, Lush Phlegmbaugh. What a mega dittohole! My first boss in radio always said that when travelling carnivals went out of business, those people went into radio. Wake up, Republicans! Phlegmbaugh, at best, is a huckster and a shill for his own point of view. It's the one that will generate the most money for him. It's got nothing to do with values. Please rise up and become the loyal opposition again. Don't relinquish your responsibility so quickly. We need at least two parties for this country to be viable and effective. Where the hell is Ralph Nader?

ALL HAIL THE NEW CASTRATI LEADER OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!
Michael Steele... your last name is clearly sarcasm. A big joke. For you have, in one fail swoop, emasculated yourself for all time. For 5 minutes you were a man, a leader, setting things straight regarding that self-loathing, divisive gas bag, Limbaugh. Then in a moment too embarrassing for most men to watch, you apologized for ever having a real set of balls and promptly ripped them out. Your wife must be proud...

@ smithstar4: I am hardly conservative, but I agree with you. Limbaugh is a media whore (my words, not yours). I recently read an excellent piece on true Conservatism. It was illuminating, to say the least. Many so called conservatives would do well to spend a day or two getting acquainted with "their" ideology.

Yet another in a line of Republican party officials that "attempted" to stand up, and then recanted... could the only one to stick to his guns (and not back off) be Colin Powell? If the Republican Party can't find a leader that makes a statement of fact, and sticks to it, the party is in bigger trouble than just not having a face for the next election. They are demonstrating a utter lack of vision, leadership, and understanding of wishes of the public... we want out of the economic and geopolitical messes created the last several years ... the public does not want to see more failure. We had enough of that, thank you very much.

I have no Republican representation in Congress to bomb with letters. Well...at least I don't think I will after the stinking pile o' dung that is Minnesota's Coleman/Franken mess has been cleaned up. But if I WAS represented by a Republican, no matter my personal politics, I would begin a letter-writing campaign to get signed "I work for and represent YOU, not RUSH" pledges from every one of these jokers -- with a clear threat that you will send them packing, regardless of the political stripe of their opposition, when they're up for reelection if they don't comply. At least then you'd have something to hold them accountable to. "You apologized to that bloated, hate-mongering, drug addicted, Viagra-popping farce. You're OUTTA here!" In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it should be the goal of every true conservative (yes, I do know the real deal is quite different from the morons who currently claim to espouse the ideology) to make it their mission to remove the boil that is Rush Limbaugh from humanity's ass. Or at least the Republican party/conservative movement. I've got no personal interest in getting the Republicans out of the wilderness, but it is a joke on the entire country -- hear that? listen closely; that's the rest of the world ROTFLTAO -- that we've got an entire political party so attached to Rush's enormous man-teat that they'll gleefully climbing aboard as he drives them off a cliff in a clown car.

I would like to see someone on the center right stand up.
To Rush but that will never happen. Rush has doing and saying things like wanting Obama to Fail for 20 years.

This is pathetic. The GOP has completely drunk the neo-con cool aid and sold the American people out. They are completely worthless and irrelevant and their cow-towing to the lard ass just proves it. I listened to excerpts from CPAC and these people are in complete denial about what they have done to this country. The GOP is the party of naked greed and they represent only the filthy money grubbers while thumbing their nose at the rest of us. Only the intellectually challenged can follow Rush and the neo-con sophistry that underpins his "arguments". It boils down to I am Rush, I am Right, Worship ME! I got a big kick out of one comment made during CPAC in which the speaker (can't remember which one because they all sounded the same) intimated that soon there would be a knock on the door and the government would come for them for the sin of practicing capitalism. OH NEO CON PLEASE!!! Do you actually have the stones to call what you have been doing for the last 8 (10 15 30) years capitalism?!?! You've been scamming us with your "self regulating markets" BS so you could enrich yourselves. And you think you are patriots? You betray the most fundamental American ideals. The republican party is a mess and it deserves the ash heap of irrelavance onto which Limbaugh, Hannity and all the other neo con idiots are dragging it.

Oh another little CPAC ditty. One speaker (the great mass of the intellectually unwashed is difficult to distinguish) was on a tirade about how bad, ugly, wicked, and stupid the press was because they refused to "report our message"! HELLO! That's because they are supposed to report the NEWS idiot. The news has to have at least a little relevance and some air of factuality. YOUR MESSAGE IS A FAIRY STORY!!! It is not worthy of being reported because it is your ridiculous political platform, which by the way, is why we are where we are today.

Steele apologizing to Limbaugh only reveals the power Limbaugh holds within the Republican party, and although his ideas may hold well with the staunch conservative base, I believe if this mans rhetoric is the rhetoric of the Republican party, they will have troubles in the future ahead when trying to attract new, younger voters. For similar political and financial issues, you all should look at asol.org. It's a great blogging website.
