The Michelle Mystique

Good news for the ailing publishing industry: Books about Michelle Obama are flying off the shelves. Two unauthorized biographies, Michelle: A Biography (biggest bombshell: Michelle’s first teenage purchase with her baby-sitting money was a Coach purse) and Michelle Obama: First Lady of Hope, have been sold to multiple foreign publishers, while two books for children, Michelle Obama: Meet the First Lady and Michelle Obama, “are selling really well,” according to Barnes & Noble. Next up: Michelle Style, a handbook out in May from HarperCollins that offers style tips, design sketches, and inside dirt on Mrs. Obama’s fashion choices.

I think Michelle is stunning to look at. She will be watched as closely as Jackie O was watched. Her every fashion move will be covered, for better or worse. Inwardly, I find her warm, intelligent with a million dollar smile. Whatever she does is fine by me.

Michelle kind of shows what she is allabout gold fashions , gold digger. The inauguration cost almost 4 times more than any other inauguration in history. She has her nose in the Dept. Of Education and guess what? She has a team, she will prove herself to be worst than Hilary ever thought of being. I wonder if you the tax payer will be paying for her TEAM? :) These people should not have called it an inauguration more like a coronation. I would not be surprised if her husband does not get impeached, he can not even follow his own executive orders.

The "star-ification" of the Obamas has been an unfortunate side effect of our celebrity-hungry culture. I say, give them breathing space to do their jobs. They're regular people, not gods, and with any luck, they'll do their jobs passably well.

She's beautiful, tall... amazing curves. She's intelligent. What more could a country want of a first lady? (Nothing) She will most likely made fashion mistakes, if we look back at all the first ladies... they all had their faux pas. (To a comment made above, gold digger, she married him when he had nothing... that says more then the cost of the inauguration, which the people wanted after 8 years of a failed government.)

Her first purchase with her babysitting money was a Coach purse? Add social climbing and concern about her image to her poor taste in fashion. What was that yellow/gold/ sequin creation? It looked like something Divine wore in a John Water's movie.

Michelle O is hardly a gold digger. Hopefully she will do her share as all first ladies do by being effective in her chosen [education] areas.
As for fashion, she is trying it her own way, and sometimes it'll be ok, great, or not ok. Maybe she will ultimately decide to do DeLaRenta,etc...or make her own cultural/social statement as to how she dresses.
Whatever. She is an attractive and vibrant woman of high intelligence, and we should look forward to seeing her as an impressive first lady who can make contributions.

She certainly is not a gold digger. Someone sounds a little jealous. Give the woman a chance and who cares what she or the kids wear. As long as people are clean and well kept what else matters. Aren't we all sick of people being judged based on appearances. We are better than that. Get a life!
