GRIEVING PROCESS

Travolta Stands by Scientology

CS - Travolta

Speaking in his first interview after his son Jett's death in January, John Travolta says that his family, including his wife, actress Kelly Preston, and his daughter, Ella Bleu, has been "working very hard every day... to heal." Despite recent rumors that the actor might be leaving his longtime faith, the Church of Scientology, daily religious counseling sessions have helped the family through the crisis. "We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping," says Travolta. The family has come out of seclusion in part to help promote Travolta's new film, Old Dogs, and introduce his daughter, who co-stars in the movie, "to the world and give her a beautiful future in film."

Why not wish him well and leave it at that? Why do you have to bash Scientology along with it? If it works for him, great. It doesn't have to be your choice...and it isn't. :)

The problem I have with scientology is the same problem I have with ALL religion: It's nothing more than man-made myths, and if this isn't true, then may God strike me dead.

ZAP!

Hmm? Why am I not surprised? Perhaps a Thetan kidnapped Jesus, Santa Claus, Mohammed and Joseph Smith, and reincarnated them as The Beatles?

Seriously, folks, believe in anything that makes you happy, and as long as you don't push it down other people's throats, and as long as you don't harm anyone or anything, then there's nothing bad about that. But for me, I prefer the search for shared Truth, which can only be found currently in Mathematics.

For Scientologists, at least they start down the path toward truth by using the term 'Science' in their title. Hubbard wrote fiction, and Scientology was the fruit of his fiction writing. But that shouldn't diminish the fact that there may be some truth within his fiction.

If you are interested in GOD, then you should recognize that it is the Journey, NOT the destination, and that learning is a life-long adventure. For some human beings, they cannot be bothered with introspection and the infinite - for me, it is why I am here. I found Buddhism to be one of the better 'spiritual' paths, because it, along with Taoism and Hinduism, most aligned with what I know to be true within nature. But we are sand worms eating "yellow mellow custard from a dead dog's eye." (John Lennon, a.k.a. G. Zuskriste), and none of us are going to convince the species of the truth, as long as we are addicted to materialism in the West. The implications of this are saddening: Our species is running out of time to evolve or vanish. GOD may love its children, but we're the head lice on the head of it's grandchild.

I am glad something, anything helps.

Scientology, leeches, phrenology, whatever, as long as it helps, I guess it doesn't matter what lunacy he subscribes to....

Live and let live. It's good to have people on the outside question and look into the secrecy that surrounds Scientology since it's an acknowledgement that they have something to hide. But people have a right to follow what they believe in without being harrassed about it.

What some of you may not realize... Travolta and Preston may be grieving BECAUSE of Scientology. According to numerous ex-Scientologists who know the score, there is a good chance the parents WITHHELD anti-seizure meds like Depacote that may have saved his life. There is a lunatic faith healing aspect to Scientology that, like Christian Science, believes that all sickness is a failure of the mind. That Jett could have been saved through auditing sessions. Many REAL CHILDREN (some with simple childhood diabetes), who are too young to speak for themselves are dying because of parents wacky beliefs.

Then take a fearless stance and have the courage to leave, rather then try and preserve wealth, image and your "yes-men" cadre of cultic leeches.

it is a matter of choice, as with any practice or religion.
Scientology is a cult which started from L. Ron Hubbard and his book Dianetics. Have faith that in this life or the next Travolta and others will fully understand.

If it can be shown that Travolta did not have the necessary medical help adminstered to his son because of his wacky scientology beliefs, then surely this is a matter for the authorities? Whether it be the police; child protection services or whatever other appropriate agents. It is not right, in my opinion, to take a laissez-faire approach to childcare. There are certain provisions in law to protect children from the more glaring failings of their parents; and there may be a case to be made here to protect children of the future suffering from autism who are not afforded the most efficacious medical treatment known for this condition because of the extraordinary views of their parents or guardians. Some things are beyond freedom of worship; and John Travolta and his wife look to me like candidates for further examination. Why don't I believe that any action will be forthcoming? In America there are different rules based on what amounts to class distinctions characterised by money, celebrity, power of whatever stripe and whatnot... Until the death of his son, Travolta denied he had autism. Interestingly, after his death and some of the controversy that was revealed- not least, that of his brother's view that Jett was indeed autistic,we are to believe Travolta accepted that his son was autistic. It should be noted that Travolta's brother has worked in the field of autism for many years. We know that Jett was not being treated for autism from the words of Travolta himself. Indeed, in many interviews he had claimed otherwise... This matter is so shocking and disturbing and demands further examination. But I will not hold my breath. Children should not be allowed to be sacrificed on the altar of their parents' or anybody else's wacky and unfortunately pathetic beliefs. Can't help but reiterate that I believe that this will be another unanswered and unfair episode in America's recent history of Lady Justice's unequal, class- biased weights and measures.Justice will be waived in favour of celebrity. And a scientology- touting celeb at that... risible.

It's kind of a turnoff to read about the launch of his daughter's film career at the end of an article about Travolta's grieving his son's death. Maybe that goes along with L Ron's ideology; when a Hollywood personality faces adversity, the next step in healing is to make more money.
