Thousands Defy Crackdown Vow
A new wave of violent strife swept Iran on Thursday as demonstrators marched across the country to show outrage over the results of the disputed election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. But baton-wielding police officers broke up the protests, firing tear gas at 200-300 people who were chanting "death to the dictator." As they did in the days following the disputed presidential election on June 12, protestors organized through social networking and opposition sites, though SMS services were cut on Thursday for the third consecutive day. Demonstrators wearing surgical masks to protect their identities from security cameras marched through the streets to Tehran University, a move they said commemorated the 10-year anniversary of student unrest there. The government has again officially condemned the unauthorized protests, as Tehran's Governor General Morteza Tamaddon announced Thursday that any protestors would be met with a "crushing" response.

PRAY FOR THEM...!

And my hopes run like this... "GO KIDS GO!"
Go GEEZERS too!!
How much blood does extreme Islamic thinking have to have on it's hands before it realizes it's killing itself?
Well, compared to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, this is nothing.
What are you trying to say?
The extremist gov't in Iran is killing it's own people. How long does that have to go on before they realized they are killing themselves in the process?
@squig
I am sure you know history, squig. Extremists NEVER learn... they would rather take as many out as they are going down.

Huffpo is on top of this once again. CNN is also broadcasting video's and tweets out of Iran. MSNBC has no clue as to whats going on and has very little to say. Everybody pass the word and vids to all the sites you go to. The world is watching.

What? Isn't it the job of a news blog to report whats happening? I don't get your point, because as of right now, there is no peace in Iran. The World is Watching.
Piece of advice comming out of Iran. If anybody gets pics or vids from Iran, make sure faces of protesters are blocked out before you pass them along on the web or media. The World is Watching.
Squiggy let it be said. That God will make our enemys fight against each other....!
Lord I hope so.
Here are some people with real courage and moral weight, out there risking their lives every day against a Nazi police state that would not hesitate to torture and kill them without a second thought--and their families as well.
Compared to them, our whole culture really is very narcissistic and self-absorbed, wallowing in the total failure of its political and economic system over the last 30 years. But out of Iran, of all places, there is an example that the whole world should never forget as long as history is still written.
God be with them. That's all I can say.
Exactly.
God, or Allah, bless them all.
They are risking their lives and the lives of their families to have a free country.
Highly unlikely to occur, but they are trying.
Wonder if they need any help?
Naawww....
MORE MORE!!! WE NEED MORE WAR!!!
So it goes.

I know a little bit about history, and I think you have it wrong, and that fascist regime has it even more wrong. By the time they figure out just how much, it will be too late for them.
Thank you.
