    2. Rand Paul: Remember Lewinsky

Rand Paul is making sure certain stains don't wash away. Responding to Democrats' claim that Republicans have launched a “war on women,” Sen. Paul said people should remember Bill Clinton, who exhibited “predatory behavior” toward Monica Lewinsky and “took advantage of a young girl in his office.” He made it clear that he believes it's relevant if Hillary Clinton runs for president. "Now it's not Hillary's fault,” he said. “But it is a factor in judging Bill Clinton in history."

    6. Pope: We Need More Roles for Women

El Papa believes women should take on “more capillary and incisive” roles in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the Italian Women’s Centre, Pope Francis said he has been pleased to see women taking on more pastoral responsibilities alongside priests and families. He also praised them for their “gifts of delicacy” and “special sensitivity and tenderness” but before he completely gave into outdated gender stereotypes, he also said that women’s role in the workplace should be expanded as well. “This is important, for without these attitudes, without these contributions of the woman, the human vocation would not be realized,” he said. Sure, we’ll take it.

    7. Brain-Dead Woman Off Life Support

After a long legal battle, Marlise Munoz was taken off her ventilator today. The 33-year-old Texas woman had been on life support for two months and was believed to be 22 weeks pregnant. Her husband, Erick, found her unconscious on November 26 at home, possibly due to a blood clot. Mr. Munoz said that Marlise had stated she would not want to remain on life support if she was ever in the state she was in, but he struggled to have his wife taken off life support against what the hospital believed was “the demands of a state statute.” The case was complicated by the fact she was pregnant, though records reportedly show the fetus is “distinctly abnormal.”

    8. Obama Ready to Stiff-Arm Congress

President Obama wants Congress to know he'll ask for its help during this week's State of the Union address, but he doesn't need it. Senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Obama's speech will include proposals that he can act on without Capitol Hill. That means signing executive orders, as he did on EPA regulations last year, or calling business and civil leaders to work together on projects. "It vaguely sounds like a threat," Sen. Rand Paul said after hearing Pfeiffer.
