200,000 Dead in Haiti?

The leading American general in Haiti, Lieutenant General Ken Keen, said on Monday that it is a “reasonable assumption” that 200,000 people died in the country’s earthquake. While he said it was “too early to know” the exact death toll, at least 70,000 people have already been buried. 2,000 U.S. Marines were scheduled to arrive in Port au Prince on Monday, and many Haitains are believed to be fleeing the capital.
