    Faisal Shahzad Pleads Guilty

Pakistan-born U.S. citizen Faisal Shahzad appeared in federal court on Monday and pleaded guilty for attempting to detonate a bomb in the middle of Times Square in early May. Shahzad pleaded guilty to 10 charges of terrorism and weapons possession, telling the judge that he'd "plead guilty and 100 times more." He also said that if the United States did not leave Muslim countries, "We will be attacking U.S." Shahzad's guilty plea is consistent with his behavior since his May 3 arrest, since which he has reportedly cooperated with authorities, intitally waiving his Miranda rights. If convicted, the charges carry a mandatory life sentence in prison.
