Ghana Awaits Team USA

The reward for the United States' dramatic victory is a date with Ghana in the round of 16 on Saturday. Ghana became the first African side to qualify for the next stage, despite losing to 1-0 to Germany—they were helped by Australia's 2-1 victory over Serbia. Germany's goal was scored by Mesut Ozil, the 21-year-old midfielder of Turkish ancestry who is fast turning into one of the team's stars. Those results mean that the Germans won Group D, setting up a tasty match-up with their hated rivals, England. Second-round action will begin on Saturday and every game will be win-or-go-home, with extra time and penalty shootouts coming into play if necessary.
