Senate GOP Rallies Against Tax Cuts

Start the countdown until when House Minority Leader John Boehner backs off his comments on Sunday that he would support an extension of the Bush tax cuts for the middle classes, even if they are allowed to expire on the wealthy: Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Monday that every Republican senator has pledged to oppose Obama’s tax plan, which would allow the Bush tax cuts to expire on family and small business with annual income over $250,000. If that doesn’t anger Democrats, then this ought to do it: Senator Joe Lieberman has called for an extension of all tax cuts, including those for the wealthy, for at least another year.
