Texas Rangers Head to World Series

Will the celebrations be bigger in Texas, too? After beating the New York Yankees 6-1 in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, the Texas Rangers will advance to their first World Series in the franchise’s nearly four decades in the Lonestar State. More than 51,000 fans—which The New York Times describes as “frothy”—attended the game at Rangers Ballpark, as they watched Colby Lewis pitch eight impressive innings. The Rangers will face either Philadelphia or San Francisco in the World Series, which kicks off on Wednesday.
