Obama Appoints Daley as Chief of Staff

It’s official: President Obama announced that he’s picked William Daley as his new chief of staff. Daley "possesses a deep understanding of how jobs are created," Obama said. Daley, former Clinton Commerce secretary and current head of Midwest operations for JP Morgan Chase, is expected be Obama’s ambassador to a business community irked by the administration’s push for health-care reform and government regulation. Indeed, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce praised Daley, calling him “a man of stature and extraordinary experience in government, business, trade negotiations, and global affairs.”
