Jersey Shore Season Three Premiere Ratings Set Record for MTV

The numbers are in and they are certainly worthy of a fist pump. An astonishing 8.45 million viewers watched the third season premiere of Jersey Shore Thursday night, setting the record as MTV’s most-watched telecast ever. The episode brought in 63 percent more viewers than last season's opener in Miami. The premiere also earned the highest rating of any show on last night (including Big Bang Theory and Grey’s Anatomy) in the coveted adult demographic with a 35 percent increase from October’s season two premiere of Jersey Shore. Seemingly, the return to Seaside Heights is suiting the series.
