    Egypt Military Bans Strikes

    One week after the fall of President Hosni Mubarak, thousands of Egyptians gathered in Tahrir Square to celebrate the end of his 30-year rule and push for more reform from the new government. The rally was upbeat, with many parents bringing their children and vendors selling T-shirts proclaiming the “Jan. 25th revolution.” Crowd estimates numbered in the millions. Protest leaders vowed not give up in their fight to bring an end to Mubarak’s cronies in power, but military leaders now in charge issued a stern warning that it would begin to “confront” the labor strikes that have been raging in Egypt lately, which they called “illegal.”
