There’s not going to be any repentant Hollywood tour from Mel Gibson anytime soon. The actor gave his first interview since tapes were leaked of him verbally abusing ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, telling Deadline Hollywood that “of course” he has regrets over what he said, but he’s “way beyond” the point where he is worried about his acting career. “I don’t care if I don’t act anymore … It’s not a problem,” Gibson said. As for his latest movie, The Beaver, Gibson said he only decided to do the movie because of his close friendship with director Jodie Foster. As for his canceled cameo in Hangover 2, Gibson said, “You have to get over it.” Despite the candor about his acting career, Gibson refused to talk about his divorce or his pending legal problems—both the assault charges against him and his DUI arrests.
