Broadcaster Silent as World Goes On
Evangelical broadcaster Harold Camping, who predicted that Judgment Day would occur May 21, has been silent as the day has progressed without incident. Camping had predicted that doomsday would begin in Asia, but Asian cities are now in the early hours of May 22, and they do not appear to be in the throes of an apocalypse. The headquarters of Family Radio, the Christian stations network which Camping runs, were closed today, and Camping’s house in California was also shuttered. He has not yet responded to requests for comments. Camping had previously predicted that Jesus Christ would return to Earth in 1994.
