‘The Hangover Part II’ Makes $30M Friday After Record Opening Day

It looks like we’re never getting rid of this Hangover. After a record-breaking opening day on Thursday, The Hangover Part II earned another $30 million on Friday, the largest-ever Friday for a live-action comedy. By comparison, The Hangover--the highest grossing R-rated comedy ever--grossed $31.8 million in the first two days. It’s on track to take in beat Austin Powers in Goldmember $87 million for the largest three-day opening and possibly make over $110 million for the four-day Memorial Day weekend. Kung Fu Panda 2 came in second, and Pirates of the Caribbean dropped 69 percent to bring in only $10.9 million.
