Rep. Anthony Weiner confirmed Saturday that he will take a leave of absence from the House of Representatives and head to a treatment center to become a "healthier person." Meanwhile, calls for his resignation reached a new pitch as a trio of top Democrats demanded he quit. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and DNCC Chairman Steve Israel all released statements at nearly the same time. Wasserman-Schultz, a fellow member of Congress, said in a statement that Weiner’s online behavior was “indefensible” and said his “continued service in Congress is untenable.” Pelosi urged Weiner to “seek… help without the pressures of being a member of Congress.” The latest scandal to hit Weiner is revelations that he chatted online with a 17-year-old Delaware girl.
