It was only a matter of time before the people behind the biggest meme to come out of the Vancouver hockey riots were identified. They're Australian Scott Jones and his Canadian girlfriend Alexandra Thomas. The couple had been watching the hockey game at a friend's house when they heard the commotion and went outside. Both got knocked down by riot police, and Jones rushed to Thomas to help her up. “We were struck by police shields, pushed to the ground and I was just very, very frightened,” said Jones. “He lay down next to her to comfort her,” said Jones father. “She was crying and he just kissed her to calm her down.”
