South Korea to Host 2018 Olympics

    Young men and young women with Olympic dreams will be headed east in 2018. The International Olympic Committee announced Wednesday that Pyeongchang, South Korea’s third largest city, has won the Winter Olympics in 2018. South Korea beat out bids from Munich and Annecy, in eastern France, to snag the Games. Pyeongchang found that the third time was a charm after two unsuccessful bids, wooing the IOC with a dual approach, pointing out that Asia had only hosted the Games twice, both in Japan, while also touting an already-built ski resort, luxury hotel, and athletes' village in addition to an express train from the Seoul airport to the Olympic city that’s already under construction.
