    Perry Announces Candidacy

    Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced his candidacy at the RedState Gathering in South Carolina, a convention of conservative bloggers. "It is time to get America working again,” said Perry. "I declare to you today as a candidate for president of the United States.” He also took the opportunity to attack President Obama, promising to repeal his “misguided” health-care reform immediately. “Mr. President, you cannot win the future by selling America off to foreign creditors,” said Perry.
