As North Carolina continues to reel from Hurricane Irene, the eye of the storm hit Norfolk, Virginia Saturday night. The storm remained a Category 1, but weakened from its earlier force. Nearly 1 million people have lost power in North Carolina and Virginia; the Hampton VA Hospitlal in Virginia has also evacuated half its patients to other facilities in the state. National Guard soldiers and airmen were deplyed to New York City and suburban Long Island to help weith evacuations, cleanup, and other duties. Track the storm here.
