DES MOINES, IA - AUGUST 12: Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin meets with fairgoers while visiting the Cattle Barn at the Iowa State Fair August 12, 2011 in Des Moines, Iowa. Although she has not announced any intention of running for president, all of the Republican presidential hopefuls are visiting the fair ahead of Saturday's Iowa Straw Poll to greet voters and engage in traditional Iowa campaigning rituals. The bizarre saga just keeps getting weirder: Sarah Palin placed her appearance at a Tea Party rally Saturday in Iowa “on hold” after a series of mix-ups over the event’s lineup. On Tuesday, organizers invited Christine O’Donnell to speak at the rally but rescinded the offer only a few hours later. By Tuesday night, they had reinvited her. Then on Wednesday, they uninvited her a second time. Palin’s team had signed off on the original invitation to O’Donnell, but then said Palin was putting her appearance “on hold” because of “continual lying” from event organizers. Organizers said they are working with Palin’s team to correct misunderstandings and work out an appearance.
