Is this supposed to be a joke? Only two days before the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the hacking group Script Kiddies took over NBC News’s Twitter feed and claimed a terrorist attack on Ground Zero. At 5:47 p.m., NBC News tweeted “Breaking News! Ground Zero has just been attacked. Flight 5736 has crashed into the site, suspected hijacking. More as the story develops.” Script Kiddies continued the prank, then tweeting, “This is not a joke” twice before eventually owning up to hacking the feed. MSNBC’s Chuck Todd later confirmed the hacking.
