It’s the end of an era. Andy Rooney will make his final regular appearance on CBS's 60 Minutes this Sunday. Rooney has been on the evening newsmagazine since it launched in 1968 and has done more than 1,000 broadcasts. He’ll announce his departure in a special segment, followed by a retrospective interview with correspondent Morley Safer. The 92-year-old newsman may make occasional appearances on the show. "It’s harder for him to do it every week," says Jeff Fager, chairman of CBS News. "But he will always have the ability to speak his mind on 60 Minutes when the urge hits him.”
