Eleven school children in Boston were taken to the hospital Thursday after a bus fire, officials said. The bus’s brakes began smoking in Dorchester, a Boston neighborhood, and Boston Fire spokesman Steve MacDonald said the children were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation as a precaution. The bus is owned by the Boston public schools, and is operated by the First Student school bus transportation system, which has a contract with the city.
