EU Sanctions Assassination Plotters
Five people involved in a plan to kill the U.S.’s Saudi ambassador are being sanctioned by the European Union, the European Council said Friday. The EU’s governing body has enlisted its member countries to cooperate with any inquiries about the suspects and has also frozen all of their financial assets within the EU. The council said its move is aimed at “combating terrorism.”
