The Texas Rangers were one strike away from winning the World Series—twice. The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the  Rangers 10-9 in 11 innings to force a game 7 in the World Series. After the Cardinals tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth, they again tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the 10th. David Freese hit a walk-off homerun for the Cardinals to end the game. Last year, the Rangers lost to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series.
