Today in poor taste: the Loudoun County GOP in Virginia is backpedaling after it released a Halloween image of a “Zombie Obama”—with a bullet in his head. The Virginia state GOP quickly distanced itself from the Loudoun County party. “The disgusting image used today on a mass email has no place in our politics. Ever,” its chairman said. And Gov. Bob McDonnell’s spokesman said the image was “shameful and disgusting.” Mark Sell, the chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, ended up apologizing, saying, “We deeply and sincerely apologize to the president and anyone who viewed the image if that was the impression that was left. The LCRC deplores any effort to display, suggest, or promote violence against the president or any other political figure.”
