U.S. Considers Quick Afghan Handover

The U.S. may relinquish its military role in Afghanistan earlier than expected. Though U.S. and NATO previously agreed to finish up the Afghan mission in 2014, an Obama administration official indicated today that the U.S. is considering switching its duties from combat to strictly advisory and training as early as next year. The change-up, however, doesn’t signal a quicker end to the war.
